The dermatologist gave me hydrocotisone cream, but I only use it if its really bad as it smells harsh and can also thin the skin. I use aqueous cream mostly to relieve the itchiness.]]>

Not sure if you can use it on kiddies though as it says in bold red letters "Prescriptions only medicine. Keep out of reach of children" ]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=887">kezplanet</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 13413<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 06 January 2008 at 10:58pm<br /><br /><P>Keeping it moist helps, &amp; cool as you have found the more you itch the worse it gets, until you get to a really insane itch &amp; theres just no stopping you from itching then.&nbsp; On a mild case you could try just cold milk - have some in a container in the fridge with a cotton ball eg.&nbsp; you can also put pinetarsol in as this&nbsp;is a great anti inflamatory.&nbsp; you can also soak some rolled oates/porridge in some water wraped in muslin, keep it in the fridge &amp; dab on when itchy - this was a remady from a natrapath (sp)</P><P>A good cream to put on is Lemnis Fatty cream, I found it better than aqueos cream as the water content isn't as high &amp; if there is a break in the skin aqueous cream can sometimes sting a bit.</P><P>If you get a prescription from Dr ask for the ointment option rather than a cream, this moisturises the area better than cream and lasts longer</P><P>Coloidial silver cream is also good, expensive but you dont need much so cover large areas</P><P>If I think of anything else will post it later, hope it gets better soon</P>]]>

I've just borrowed some of their cream off a friend for a stubborn patch on the back of Spencers knee. Not sure if it would help with itchy but it has cleared that up quicker than anything the doc suggested.<span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by cuppatea</span>]]>
