yes...and they'll be nasty nappies too. I remember complaining about jake being stinky when he was this little. Mum laughed and said just wait. Now, Jake can clear the room....it's revolting. L:ewis goes back next week and will be back beginning of may, in time for my graduation. It'll be weird as he'll miss out on Taine for three months. he'll be like a different kid when he gets back. Taine is really dark actually. Okay, here are some details. They kinda sound farcical as I'm writing them down
11:30 my waters broke. jake had been a moster all night and was wide awake - refusing to sleep.
contractions started 11:40, 11:50, 11:55, 11:58 - so we rang the midwife - she's not there!!! She had been up all night so was asleep. Another midwife was there and asked if I could wait as the delivery suites were all full. So mum rang Nana - who was supposed to look after jake. Only problem is, she has recently gone deaf in one ear. And of course if she sleeps on her good side - can't hear a thing. So, of course she didn't hear the phone. Mum ran around to pick her up. They get back and Mum has lost her car keys (turns out she'd left them on Nana's car roof and they fell off - returned thenext day by the neighbour). Luckily she had a spare set, so we went up to the hospital. I had contractions all the way. Got out of the car and crawled into the hospital (later found gravel burn on my knees - hehe) Mum got a wheelchair and we went in at 12:30am.   My midwife is still not there, but her associate is and decides to check things out. I think I was 4cm at this time, so she said get in the bath. Did that, and they got a lot stronger. So i asked for gas. M/W brought in canister....wrong attachment - wouldn't work. brings in another - it's empty. So iget out and on the bed. gas is okay here. M/W checks again (about 2:00 now) and I'm 8cm. I was not impressed. Suddenly felt like pushin, so did so. Then i could feel I was pushing out liquid. I thought it was pee and honestly thought of nikki saying about spontaneous emptying of bowels. I was a bit embarressed, but found out later it was blood....not sure if that was better or worse really!
Anyway, another push and could feel the head. Kept pushing and taine's head was out. The M/W was saying "his heads out, now just relax and when you're read...", I remember thinking " that's uncomfortable, stuff this...push" and out came th rest. Unlike jake I checked what he was immmediately. Lewis cut the cord, and my M/W said that she still hadn't got a reply from my regular M/W and wondered where she was (turns out she had the phone right next to her ear, but was so asleep she heard nothing - i didn't really care as long as everything was good).
So the M/W weighed Taine..and this is the weird thing. She said he was 7pounds 4. And Lewis took a photo of him being weighed. But on his form it says 3.080kg..which is 6pounds 13. So i don't actually know how much he weighed. I'm giong to find out later.
Anyway, we got to the room and yet again, i had to share. the woman i was sharing with promptly fell asleep and snored really really loudly, so no sleep for me!
Next day my dad truns up with jake. I was a little annoyed about this as I wanted lewis to bring Jake up and show him Taine, but oh well...too late now.
Then it comes to lunch and THEY FORGOT ME!!!! I had to ask, and then didn't get anything til 1pm. Luckily i had lollies.
My regular M/W turned up and apologised for missing the birth, but said I could go home that night if I wanted to. I wanted to. So waited for mum to come up and went home.
thats about it.

oh yeah, no tearing, but a graze. that actually hurts more than the stitches I had with jake!

Just to let you all know Taine Jason Marama was born at 2:07am this morning. After sharing a room with the amzingly loud snoring woman, we decided to come home.   will write the birth story after I've had some sleep. jake is a little unsure of the new arrival. He smacked him on the head a little, but was actually trying to be gentle, and taine didn't seem to mind...oh well.

Yeah, it is actually. the midwife has mentioned that they will probably induce on Friday if nothing has happned by then. I'm not too worried as jake was induced and I found the whole experience bearable.

tomorrow - no idea. May walkt to the esplanade and let Jake have a swim. Its about an hour away by foot so that might help.

Going to the toy thing in the esplanade on sunday assuming the weather is nice. Not sure about saturday - went to campbell street park today - excellent place for littlies. jake could run around, get on the slide and swing by himself. No idea about the due date! I never got a period so it's really hard to predict. then again, i was always crap with dates so when pregnant with jake...i kinda "estimated" my dates anyway. well, hate to disappoint you all, but still here.
Went to midwife yesterday and she did an internal and said everything is ready, just playing the waiting game. If nbothing has happened by Wednesday I have an appointment at the day-clinic up att he hopsital, and then they will probably induce on Friday.

It's so frustrating though. We went to our movie and dinner yesterday - harry Potter and Thai. All through the movie I had contractions. At dinner they were painful and ten minutes apart. Then we come home.....and nada!!! I was pleased we hadnm't cut dinner short like I was contemplating.
And that stuff happens EVERY NIGHT> I get contractions only for them to stop. definately fingers crossed - for some reason the number 14 comes up in my head... so it may be tomorrow.. or i'm just thinking random numbers lolol.

Hey Becs, I like this age, but i can't wait for her to be about 1 and a half... i mean don't get me wrong, already i really miss the baby-baby stuff, but we were taping down video footage last night - (we haven't done it for ages) and it was of paris last xmas, when she was 15 months, had just learnt to walk, and was still all wobbly and chubby and talking funny and I kept saying to mike "oooh she's so little, shes sooo cute!!" just want Ayja to be at that stage too.. everything is so much fun then!

oooh can't wait for her party either, i love planning parties.. sometimes think maybe i should have done that... instead of spending lots of money training to look after sick people, he he. Ooh, i love birthday parties!
Baking went well though. I made blueberry and white chocolate muffins - well blueberries were expensive so used boysenberries instead, and chocolate biscuits - average, and lemon and passionfruit meringue pie - okay i guess but not as good as I had hoped.

Last night i was actually in quite a bit of pain, but today, of course, it seems much better. I have an appointment with my midwife today to discuss what's the next step. If it's anything like Jake, we'll go up to the hosptial next week for a scan.
Lewis' friend and his wife came over a fe days ago. Their second baby was also late and she went in for a scan. That night they rang her to be induced the next day. Baby was an estimated 11pounds!!!!! And was actually that big too. She's tiny!! I don't think B2 is near that, but we'll see.
