Well i'm not a working mum but a studying mum and I have to say yep to all of the above and

24. Being able to listen to something that isn't The Wiggles, Thomas, Barney etc.

he he, for me its getting to go to work, deal with gorgeous babies, fulfil the cluck factor, then come home and remember that i no longer have sleepless nights and breastfeeding issues (however much i want them still )

23) Having a life, and retaining my own identity as well as being a mum.

20) My husband (superdad) rapidly learning what it's like to be a fulltime caregiver and now appreciating why some days I was still in my pjs when he got home from work and the house looked the same as when he'd left.

Ha ha - there's nothing like being thrown in the deep end!!

18) Remembering that you are a person and "not just a mum", and that you deserve to pursue interests outside of the sphere of motherhood.
19) Setting a good example for Michaela in that you want her to know that as a woman, she has choices and doesn't have to succumb to some outdated societal expectation that if she chooses to have children, she *has* to stay home with them and forget about her own needs, wants, and desires.

14) Occassionally get to fly to Auckland for one day trips at no cost to myself and never have to stay overnight because I have a little one to get home to.

you actually get a morning tea/lunch break, and get to drink a hot drink at a temp you like it at, not scalding your mouth to have one quickly "while you can" or getting distrated and putting it down to "attend" and it gets cold and

OK first off don't get me wrong.. I actually hate leaving my little girl (in the capable hands of her daddy) everyday to go to work. I work for a great company who are so accomodating and let me finish early afternoon so I can spend time with my daughter and I'm really good at my job but who wants paid employment when you could be doing the best and most important job in the world - raising a little person.

So I need to remind myself what's great about being a working mum - feel free to add.

1) Money
2) Michaela's so excited to see me at the end of the day
3) Once a week wines & lunch with my girlfriends
4) I get to read a book or magazine in peace on my way to work and on my lunch breaks
5) Undisturbed opportunity to trawl the Oh Baby forum.
6) Grown up conversations
