Ooh great thread! Here's some of mine, we got married on 5th Jan this year in Hawkes Bay We had a 'mini-moon' in Taupo for a week after the wedding, and a couple of months later went to Europe for 5 weeks

Yep, to buy it off the shelf (but made to fit) was $3,850. That's about 40% of our entire budget though, so is a no go area (unless we or the ILs win Lotto!!!). It's a mix between two Jane Yeh designs...very form fitting. I can post a couple of pics if you want. Because of the fit and style, you need particular fabric (a.k.a. silk, or duchess satin I think it's called??) which is cut on the bias, so all up - 6 metres at $150/m

ETA: I should really add that to get it made in store is about $4,000, or only just under, so big difference!!!

Oooooooh, am officially just under 4 mths to go now.

Kelly - def go have a look at NZWP - go to the discussion forums. There's not too many 2010 brides at the moment, but just join in with the 2009 brides, we're a friendly bunch And for some things, if you look and decide now, you should be pretty much guaranteed to get who/what you want, particularly if you want to get married in the "wedding season" (December-March usually). Errr, ok, not that I'm wedding obsessed or anything of course....

I was thinking a light chiffon (or similar material) long slightly-flared sleeves (I want to say pagan sleeves but don't know if that makes sense)... or something that has detail elsewhere that draws the eye away from her hands and wrists.

I just looooove all these photos... i'll have a look at it Essie , but ....argh so many things to do , ,,,what am i worrying about ? we arent even getting married till 2010 .
heres one dilemma, one of bridesmaids , my best friend has arthritis, from her jaws to her toes, and i mean , I think shes just gorgeous, of course but she is really insecure about her hands, her fingers are , permanently bent and her wrists are thin so she'll not want to let people see them , how do i get around this ?
Yes, i know ,its MY day , but shes my bestmate, id be so upset if she wasnt in the bridal party , along with my other bestmate,and i wouldnt want her to feel uncomfortable or self concious cos of me , because shes so loyal that she would wear whatever i said, to keep me happy , and i dont want her to feel she has to do it .
So what could i do ? have very light material long sleeved cardies or something ?

I love wedding photos, here are some of ours.

We were married 12th may 2007 at St Matthews in the City in Auckland. We had our reception at the Logan Campbell Centre at the Auckland Showgrounds. Photos were taken at both Mt Eden and Cornwall Park. We went to LA, New York, Washington and Hawaii for our honeymoon - it was fabulous!

Thanks fattartsrock! I love our photos, I can't stop looking at them. Jess did such a good job, I would recommend her to anyone (also she does great portraits!)

Actually, my family is in Nelson (and I am overseas) but I love Allan Scott so much we just had to get married there    I loved getting married in Blenheim - everyone was so friendly and happy for us.

Put some pics on photobucket yesterday so I'm going to see if I can attach them this time ....

None of my photo's were digital but I have a few random one's that ppl took and sent to me.
We were married 6th January 2007 In Tirau (yeah) and we had our reception at the Oraka Wapiti Deer Park ( the best place to have venison)

Me and my Bridesmaid's (Sisters) Before the event........

and me a dh walking out.....

and Me stuffing my face because i was sooo nervous i didn't have breeakfast and lunch oh and my lovely family........

yay for wedding photos .. i was trying to figure out how i'd missed this post when i realised it was started on my wedding day! - 13 Jan 2008 (I was about 9 weeks pregnant - thank god the morning sickness gave me a break that day!!)

anyway... here are some of my favs - we got married at Rakino Island in the Hauraki Gulf and reception same place. no power or running water and we did EVERYTHING ourselves (except the photos!)






we couldn't decide on a flavour so went with different flavours of cupcakes - with a picnic-style reception it worked really well!

DH and I got married on April 21st, 2007 at Founders Heritage Chapel in Atawhai, Nelson. Our reception was at Seifrieds Winery in Appleby, Nelson. I was 28 weeks pregant and DH's mum made all the dresses.

Yep spotlight was very good with my wedding as we (well my mum and her sister and my nana) did alot of the stuff for us.

Waah... I need to get around to getting married. Unfortunately weddings are pricey! I'm going to have to use it as an excuse to get a nice pair of black Doc Martins... as I am NEVER EVER being caught in strappy heels, and I'm plenty tall enough without any heel at all. Plus they're functional and attractive And I LOVE Kilts... Would never get DF into a suit anyway. Will probably go for a black Utility Kilt, as we're about as far from scottish as they come, and he'd love one anyway... we don't want a big wedding, we don't drink, and my mother is a good musician, I'm hoping to get her to drag a friend or two from her irish music group down for when we do get married. 90% of the money for our wedding will be on clothing and venue. We want somewhere outdoorsy, not sure how much that will cost. Here's some of mine. Got married on June 5th 2005
Ours was a very small low key affair (which we both wanted) - We got married at The Boatshed in Wellington and had our reception there as well.
We had an awesome day, it was just what we wanted.

Cakes - Small one was made by my grandmother (fruit... family tradition) - Big One was Chocolate Mud with White Choc Ganache icing and covered in white choc boards! Yum.

To the bride that had a childs "corner" we did exactly the same thing - and it worked a treat! No tears, no noise anything it was perfect.
We also got the kids glow braclets and things like that off trademe, they made all sorts of things with them it was great! We also brought sparklers and the kids all had those outside - with an adult of course! Wedding photos are just great, aren't they!
We got married on October 13th 2001 (13 unlucky for some, but we got married after 13yrs, so 13 is a good number for us!) at St. Chad's church in Sandringham, and had photos at the park down the road, sorry don't remember the name....but had a lot of fun as you'll be able to see!

My fav! One of my bridesmaids was 7mths preggy and wanted to climb the tree with the boys - we wouldn't let her!

DH was worried about what he'd got himself into!
