Family history, anything my mum has and has had I get it and she gets it from those plants and when I told my dr he said it would be from them.

Its caused from my garden

Its the courgette, tomato and pumpkin plants

So when ever I go into the courgette patch I have to wear long pants and gloves on my hands.

I get tiny patches and I think mine is triggered by heat.

Hannah, however, gets it from all products that have perfumes or chemicals in them. I stopped using all soap on her and I try to keep her away from all cleaning products. If she uses products then her eczema flares up really bad and not just in the places that she has contact with the irritant.

I think she may also react to washing powder. I switched to eco store soon after she got it bad and haven't tested that theory but it seemed to get better after that. May have been a combination of things.

Anyway, with my amateur medical career well underway, I'd say that your eczema is from the heat and combined with soap/perfumes etc. (But I know you've already seen the doc so (s)he's probably already figured it out)

As far as treatment goes, what has worked in the past is treating REALLY bad patches with a strong steroid cream to get it under control (at night) and then just maintaining a moisturising routine (emulsifying cream... don't use anything perfumed)

dairy, tomatoes (but i love them so bah), aqueous cream, some lotions, shampoos, washing powders, chemicals, lots of things

I suffer from ezcema as well. I have it really bad on my hands at the moment, it is so bad I can't stand to put my hands under water because it stings. Am seeing a skin specialist on Monday, but after going to my GP to make sure it wasn't infected as it had little puscules all over it. He suggested that I use Neutrogena hand cream every hour. And I must say it is improving, he advised me to stay away from all johnsons products as they can cause a lot of people skin problems.

yes sea water stinks like a b**t*h but it's actually good for ezcema. as we live by the beach, if my ezcema flares up, i go for a dip every day and that helps clear it up.

Mine is not too bad at the moment - triggers - hormonal, overdose of tomatoes, citrus, too much washing - stripping natural oils, soaps, detergents, STRESS, body overheating - eg hotshowers, humid weather etc.

I don't know about dairy, wheat, glutin as I havn't 'gone without them' but my nephew has almost got rid of his completly by ommiting almost all of these out of his diet

I get one type of excema on a couple of my fingers and have worked out that it's bubbly, wine and the spa pool. Needless to say I have a dry patch there most of the time

I also get excema on my arms and backs of my knees occasionally but have worked out that it flares up due to poor diet mostly. I also have to avoid having showers that are too hot as that flares it up.

I had excema as a young child and wool directly on my skin triggered it, but only if I was in 'cycle'... mine was a seven year cycles so 0-7 I had it, had a rest from it until I turned 14 and for some reason it came back until I was 21... thankfully each 'bout' of it was a little less severe, I'm 31 now and don't really get it anymore... no set triggers as such but I now have a form of dermatitis that affects my hands and feet called Pomphlox (sp?) which seems to be triggered by this hot humid weather we're having lately, grrr.

I have a feeling its washing powder but I already use persil but her main areas are the kicker line at the front and on her bottom, behind knees. Thats where the worst is and then she can get it all over. we just been to the beach and I had to go find a chemist as we forgot her ezcema cream and she feel into sea water and it really stung/hurt her she cried all the way back to the bach to have a shower.

Alize's eczema is caused by cows milk and wheat products. Had long discussion with GP today about the different things that are causing what for Alize. I hope it isnt anything in your garden!

I have excema and it gets triggered by
- moisturizers with mineral oil
- harsh cleaning products
- fruit acid ie lemon/orange juice
- too much diary in my diet
- too much acid in my diet
- most sunscreens

fun eh

ETA: forgot pool water too, it's the chlorine that does it for me

I saw my dietition today and she saw my arms and said that it looks like my excema maybe an allergy. But I can't think of what it could be. So who has excema, what is it triggered by.
