Cricket is a great game not only for children. A cricket field does not take up much space and is often found in almost any village. My upbringing included playing cricket. Therefore, I am not surprised that I began to pay increased attention to this sport as I matured. I am in NZ. I married a kiwi guy have been here for 5 years now!!
I travel back every year, usually with DH, will see how much changes with the bubs as to how often I go back now!
I feel like this is becoming home now, although I still am an Aussie at heart!
The book is called FREDDY: THE BRAD FITTLER STORY. It is really interesting reading about him growing up, theres a lot more to old Freddy than meets the eye!

Cricket is the only sport I watch regularly. I grew up on it I guess. I actually used to go to at least one international 1 dayer a season, plus have been to the MCG. I love going to national games at #2, and it totally sucks that there will be no #2 becasue of stupid rugby world cup.

Yep I do, my parents have just moved to the Sunshine Coast and my dad's aunty and uncle live in north Brisbane. When we lived there we lived in the city.

Mum said that it has tried to rain up there yesterday but never has actually done anything. But a few weeks ago with the storms they got a lot of rain.

I was watching sky news when it all happened I was glued to my TV for the last session of the 2nd test waiting for them to get all out. I was stocked and then came the uproar.

But I would really love to go to the big league thing they have coming up next month with all the current teams all on Aussie Stadium. I know my sisters friend is going to be at it as she is with on of the Dragon's player.

i love cricket, and am not a fan of rugby. I prefer league to rugby, but one year I followed the whole NRL and it overdosed me to league. I just find in NZ there is way too much rugby on TV I'm just over it, the super 14 will start soon and hello its still summer, why can't they just have rugby in the winter.

The first game of cricket I ever saw was the infamous underarm bowling game in 1981 and that got me hooked, I used to have a crush on Lance Cairns when I was younger, he was my idol!! LOL.

I go to see one dayers every year, except this year I won't be able to as the ODI against England in Chch is the day before I am due, but I might go to the 20/20 on the 7th Feb depending on how I feel. I just love it!! My DH likes it but not as much as I do. My preference is for one day games, but I do enjoy 20/20, not so much of a test fan unless its the final day and its exciting, but then its just like a one dayer. My DH bought me a signed bat, which is signed by the black caps who beat the Aussies in the Chappell-Hadlee at the start of last year. I even forced the issue to get sky so I could watch cricket.

I played at high school too and for a club when I lived to Christchurch... opening bat and sometimes wicketkeeper!! (I was one of the few in my high-school team who wasn't afraid of the ball )

Me too! I used to play cricket at high school. Was totally crap at it, but enjoyed it anyway I get a bit bored watching it on telly (not that we ever see it anyway) but love going to one dayers. Esp in Napier with a group of friends. Havent done it since kids, and DH HATES cricket.

OMG now that is going back a long time ago with the North Sydney Bears.

I'm the same with sport, i'm a bit rugbyed out as DH used to work for the NZRFU so it was always in our house Graham this and that and he had to do long hours as Graham needed this done now.

I don't like the game at all. It it's not being watched on the TV by Dh he's playing the freak'n game on the xbox360. I can't get away from it.

Oh you are so lucky. The MCG is fantastic. My nana went to day 1 of the boxing day test last year and they loved it. The Indian game will be interesting with everything that has been going on

Mummy_becks, DH and I are actually going on holiday to Melbourne in three weeks so have got ourselves tickets to see the Aust v India One dayer at the MCG... I am soooooooo excited! The licensing laws in England use to be that pubs would have to shut between 3pm and 7pm. But at the cricket you could drink all day. Think it might have only have been on Sundays that they shut at those times. I remember when the law use to be in, it only changed a couple of years ago but I can't remember if it applied to everyday or just Sundays.

I'm watching the Aussie v India game as I type, to get a bit of a fix! I'm a Kiwi gal and support the Black Caps through and through though (even if it does become a little tenuous at times! )... I used to work at games when I was a teenager in Hamilton, doing sightscreens and the like.
