Df and I were lying on the floor with her tonight and she had no nappy on and we were cheering her on and she was trying really hard, you could see that us cheering her on made her want to try harder then she got over but her arm was in the way and she rolled back.. She'll be fine. There are big differences in my 2. Andre walked at 9 months and Josh still isn't walking and i'm not fussed (althou his grandparents are). She'll do it when she wants to.

I'm sure I have seen somewhere online a thing of when children met milestones and the avarage time they usually do meet them. Have a search around and you'll see she is all good (and very cute).

Hey Kandice, Spencer only rolled from tummy to back until 2-3 weeks ago and now he rolls both ways (and rolls round and round the lounge) with his cloth nappy on. He first learnt to roll quicker without nappy on but when he learnt back to tummy he did that with his nappy on. He spent a little while trying but with his arm in the way so I would say that she isn't far off doing it.
My friends baby was only rolling back to tummy until friday when he suddenly went the other way for the first time and he is 7 months, so I don't think you have anything to worry about.
Spencer still doesn't sit properly but I don't think it has anything to do with cloth more just that he gets distracted too easily.

Yeah well Kylah doesnt roll back to tummy yet.. she rolls tummy to back fine.

In saying that she almost done it tonight with no nappy, but doesnt have her arm in the right place.

LOL Clare, the gremlins took their sweet time with the walking thing too and believe me, I wish they hadn't figured it out yet!

As for cloth affecting mobility, not here. Both gremlins rolled about 8-10 weeks. Fay and her week younger sposy friend have match each other step by step with no difference in their mobilising development, Fay has been in cloth from 8 weeks and her friend has been in sposies from birth. DS was rolling over onto his tummy at 3 months... and then he'd chuck up everywhere because of the pressure - he was in cloth then. And were we affected when we were in bulky old fashion flats when we were babies?

1. Hannah learnt to roll when she was having no nappy time (as she was a sposie baby) as that was the time she was on the ground but I don't believe for a second that cloth would have inhibited her in a big way from doing it had she been in them.

2. I think you realise as your kiddo gets older that it really doesn't matter when they roll, sit, crawl, walk.

I think lots of babies learn to roll first during nappy free time but I don't believe that cloth inhibits their movement at all. I've had a baby in disposables and a baby in cloth - both learnt to roll, sit & crawl at roughly the same age - but the baby in cloth walked nearly 3mths earlier than the baby in disposables

Also, think back to when we were all babies and all in bulky cotton squares, fluffies & plastic pants. There were still some babies that walked at 10mths and others that didn't walk til 2yrs! There were no alternatives to cloth and each baby was just treated as an idividual.

The only thing I'd consider is whether some bulky velcro nappies would restrict around the tummy when babies are learning to sit? That's probably just another load of old cobblers too . . . .

We don't find that it effects him hardly at all. Did having your baby in cloth effect how long it took them to roll back to front and sit up etc?

My DF wants to put kylah in sposies as he thinks that because shes in cloth nappies she cant roll over. She is practically doing it without a nappy on.

I dont want to go to sposies..
