When Jake was teething with his molars he would only eat veges. He adored KFC potato and gravy. Han would only eat fruit and dessert while teething. Wouldn't have a bar of veg or meat. oooh just went back and read something you said Jacobsmum..... about him either being lazy or something..

you might find that he has become accustomed to getting milk very easily from the bottles... therefore does get lazy and impateient cos it's a heck of alot more work and longer to wait for let down. Ayja does the same when i've been on placement and she's had heaps of bottles. i still b/f but ayja goes through days where she just mucks around with everything. I usually feed her first thing when she wakes up, then wait half an hour or so and give her solids then... it's good cos she's kinda dozy when she first wakes up - so drinks well and doesn't get too distracted.    if she refuses her feed before solids, then i just try and top her up before she goes back down for a sleep instead. around sleep times seems to be the only time i have sucess with feeding her now - but that's just her age i guess, she loves her food too.

not sure how old jacob is, but at about 9 mths you can give solids before milk.

i think i used to wait an hour between milk and solids and about 3-4 milk feeds a day ... but i only ever breastfed.

I can't remember what jake ate honestly. We just went with the flow I think. I stopped breastfeeding at 4 months, so we had Jake on formula. I'm pretty sure he was having a bottle in the morning and night, and one or two during the day. He was a hungry wee lad so ate quite a bit. He's nearly 10kgs (about 9.7 or 9.8 with nappy and top on at plunket the other day)so he's not starving! I'd really like to keep feedinghim, but I really don't know how many times a day they are "meant" to feed if they are on 3 solid feeds a day?
I wondered if he is hungary and thats why hes waking but to be honest I think he is either lazy (dosent want to wait for let down) and not worried or just taking bottle if I offer it cos he can? I dunno *shakes head*

ok, so I looked back on topic for the last 6 months and couldn't really find what I ws after, so what the hey, just start up a new one. heres the LATEST drama (ha ha seems like I lurch from one to the other..)

Jake eats 3 good feeds a day, but, but not too keen on his meat and veg at night, would rather have fruit than veg or meat and veg etc. Should I be bothered?

Wont B/f before a meal, just wants solids. Some times I give him a bottle, sometimes I just persevere, but it is sooooo hard. At the mo, the only B/F he is having is his middle of the night one, makes me sad!
is this normal? (plunket nurse said sometimes they go off b/f when teething?0
So how much bottle should I give him/ how much milk should he be drinking at this age? At the mo He has 2 240ml bottles (at care) and his B/f at 4.30am and I am giving him water as well. Should he be having more??
