I put them in a bath with hot water and bleach and the little ones came up really well, the bigger ones are still in the bath soaking. I have filled them up with hot water and bleach and shaking them every hour to get rid of the "bird flu" stuff.

Oh no, your rubber ducks have bird flu like mine get! We've tried the bleach solution as well and found it doesn't work all that well, so we end up chucking bath toys out every few months. The only thing that seems to work is prevention -- squeeze all the water out of each toy after each bath, so they're not sitting there with stagnant water inside of them.

I might have to start collecting my scoops now, might give them a wash in the dishwasher at the in laws as well.

when we moved to NZ I had the same prob with a lot of our toys and NOTHING fixed them. janine suggested just getting multiples of the same toys from $2 so they could be chucked and replaced with ease. That would involve having a dish washer and I don't have one, but I could take them to in inlaws to try that.

Yeah I know they get gross aye? Last time I did it I filled a bucket with hot water and put some bleach in, chucked toys in. Refilled it the next day and turned all the toys over (or you can just put something over the top so they dont float). Then rinsed them lots and lots. The rubber ducks have yucky things inside them and now Josh is chewing on them I would like the clean.
