We're in a bit of a different situation. My DH is Superdad during the day while I work and then we hand over mid afternoon and he works at night.

Because DH gets so much more time with Michaela than I do during the week (plus being with an active toddler from 6:30am and then looking after a team of 5 until 10pm exhausts him) I monopolise Michaela's time on Saturdays. From the beginning Grant took bathtime over from me. When I was pregnant with her he told me it is his thing.

When they are alone they love going to the park.

Rough and tumbe (yes even at that stage and it is really good for them) Just playing with her as if she is an aeroplane and flying her around.

Going for walks and talking about all the different things they see. Sometimes dads have more patience with this kind of thing.

Going to a pond and feeding the ducks.

What was nice is these front pack carriers that you can put baby in instead of a pram sometimes.

They just went for really long walks and do their kind of chatting ect and she seemed to have loved it.

Just let them chill sometimes and let him do what he wants to do with kiddy. My DH gets up with Rhyley on a sunday (my sleep in day) normally he playing with his toys, reads books or play outside. The thing is it doesn't have to be an arranged thing that he does with her, spontaneousness (is that such a word??) is part of the fun. Going for walks whilst it fine would be good and going to the park.

I wish more Dad's would come to our music, but most of them are working I guess we have had the odd Dad come in their holiday's etc. One Dad even brought the toddler's when Mum had just had baby that was cool.
maybe there are other Dad's that feel the same way in palmy maybe give the music team a ring and find out if they have any guy's attending.   i can totally understand how your DH would feel a little intimated we are a very scarey bunch us woman all in a group.
Oh I was going to say swimming DH loves going swiming with the boy's.

I thought swimming too. Maybe somewhere like chipmunks/Lollipops Playland when she gets a little bit older. They have swings for the babies and a little bouncy castle, slide e.t.c. Lots of exciting things for baby to look at. Adults can take children up into the playground. There is a cafe there too and baby changing facilities

When I worked weekends, my husband used to take Hannah swimming every time. My DH loves spending time with our daughter alone!
I don't know if any group things run on a Sun. Maybe he could take DS/DD?? for a walk and as he/she gets older they could visit a park. Or he could take him/her swimming?

I am looking for activities or activity that my husband and 4.5mth (nearly 5mth) old can do together on a Sunday morning while I'm at work. I want something that becomes their thing (without mummy).
Does anyone have any ideas of what he can do with her on a regular basis (something they can do in all kinds of weather) or groups/activities he can join.
We live on the North Shore in Auckland

Any help would be great.
