It's not just the govt - anyone working today gets paid time and a half and a day in leau (I think

) so the retailers pass on the costs to consumers this way.

Nah I doubt it. We are a consumer driven society

I actually miss the days where things were only open till 12 on a Saturday and nothing was open on a Sunday

I just hope that Starbucks isn't going to put a stupid surcharge on my coffee this morning
