I've got a few of each and found that Trademe is an excellent place to find them. I actually dont look at toybrand when I do buy toys. I look at what it can provide (sometimes just pure fun it great) and if it will last and price.

Something that I found great this last year was the megasketcher and then the first leappad. I've got a bit of both. I get the toy based on the toy not the brand most times as its what the boys want of I like the look of.

Hi Mum2Lucas,

I am a Fisher Price girl all the way! I have sooo much of their stuff. I've just recently bought the Ready Steady Rider for Kyan's 1st birthday (not till May but I got it in the Boxing Day sales!).

The best toy from either of these brands that I have bought is the Fisher Price Learning Home. Kyan loves it and so do all the other kids (ranging from 1-4) that have come over - it keeps them entertained for hours! Even my nearly 12 year old stepson likes to play with it!!

As for educational toys, I reckon you can't go past Leapfrog stuff for that kind of thing. I bought Kyan the Little Touch Leap Pad for Christmas - its for ages 6 - 36 months and its basically an interactive learning book. You can buy different books from places like The Warehouse/Farmers for around $18 on special. He's way too young for it now, but a 1 year old will start to appreciate that kind of thing I think. Great for getting them into reading, especially as they can be involved as well.

Just wondering which brand you prefer?

And what toy you would highly recommend to others that is either of these brands!
