It was awful, my only thoughts were 'what the hell have we done'. She is a joy now tho,..thank goodness!]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=17695">Peace</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 14555<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 17 February 2008 at 8:45pm<br /><br />Newborn<br />Sucky parts: <br />They're blobs with no personality<br />Keep you up at night<br />Change their routine constantly<br />Keep you in more than out<br />Sleep can be easily interrupted<br />Cries are like drills<br />Can have medical surprises like reflux and allergies.<br />Don't enjoy things with you (like walks to the playground and a push in the swing LOL!)<br />Burping/dribbling<br />Can't tell you that they love you and show affection.<br /><br />Great parts:<br />Smell good<br />So teeny!<br />Blank canvas<br />Portable<br />Don't run off<br />Their smiles and giggles are so sweet!<br /><br />Toddlers:<br />Sucky parts:<br />Poos smell worse<br />Evil tantrums<br />Get into everything<br />Bad behaviour/habits begins<br />They don't often wake at night but when they do you think to yourself "FARK, I can't deal with THIS!"<br />Crying is LOUD, especially the screaming.<br />Dealing with them socially or during shopping is not cool<br /><br />Great parts:<br />You can go for a walk and explore and play together<br />They can walk<br />They can some what talk and gesture to get their point across<br />You can leave them to play and it's a good thing, especially at kiddy gyms<br />You can teach them to swim <br />You can teach them mannerisms like "thumbs up" and "high fives!"<br />They have funny/entertaining personalities <br />Don't often break from routine<br />You can have fun watching them experience new things, especially new foods.<br />They don't often wake at night<br />They wrap their arms around you and give you a hug and a kiss and say "I love you" in their own special way.<br /><br /><br />I have loved Olivia at all of her ages but especially as a toddler, she hit 17 months and became really cool. I found getting up in the night and Olivia's reflux/heart murmur rather horrifying to deal with as a newborn. I'm pretty glad I'm past that bit!]]>

The newborn stage was dreadful coz they screamed a lot and had shocking reflux etc. and the toddler stage is driving me up one wall and down another and I am sick of the constant mess my house is in with the twin terrorists on the loose. <br /><br />That said, Maya was definitely easier as a newborn than a toddler, she was a dynamite tantrum thrower.]]>
