Anything bigger than an umbrella stroller though has to go as checked in.

Just as an aside, with questions like these it does always pay to check directly with the airline, I'm always happy to answer anything to do with Air NZ but that doesn't always carry over to other airlines and I'd hate to set anyone wrong!

They all have different restrictions concerning cabin baggage, which is what the stroller will count as. Some don't let you carry them on and make you check them through. However, many airports have strollers that you can borrow for the duration of your time there -- I know Auckland Airport does. It might be worth checking out.

We're off to Gold Coast on Tuesday and I've had so many questions and haven't had to post anything because they get asked before I get a chance so all good!

I have one more. Can someone please confirm that you can take the stroller (little umbrella type one) on the plane? I really don't want to have to check it through. I'm worried it will get broken, and we also want to have it in case Ashlee gets tired and wants a nap before we have to board the plane. I've been told that we can take it with us right up until boarding, then they take it off us and store it in their umbrella area/closet thingy. I've checked the dimensions on the website (Pacific Blue) and it seems like we can according to those dimensions.

ETA: sounds like I just answered my own question, but I thought maybe someone could confirm it lol!

Edited by baalamb
