That's good news Topsy - hopefully she'll start getting used to it quickly and sleep through again.

Thnks everyone. We just had our fortnightly visit to the Osteo and she said that she has seen much much worse. This made me feel a little better!
Mum and Dad have also offered to pay to go to a specialist privately and in the meantime I have put the safety sleep around the sleep wedge which seems to do the trick. The Karitane Nurse visited us yesterday and we were discussing this as Rowan's starting to get a slight one on the back of her head. My Mercedes had a shocker of a flat spot on her head where she favoured one side, and even when she was awake she tilted her head to that side, all the photos of her up till about 3 1/2-4 months she has the tilt thing going on.
I had the Plunket nurse check for a torticullis (sp?) which is where the muscles in the neck aren't even but Mercedes' were fine, and she could hold her head up well during tummy time so we were told not to worry. I tried propping her onto the other side using a blanket and the Safety Sleep but she would always twist her head back the other way, stubborn monkey. I've been told that her preference for that side could be the way she was lying in utero.
We were told to give her lots of tummy time, which we did over a pillow coz of her reflux, and to encourage her to turn her head to the other side when she was awake. Putting interesting things on the other side of the cot never made a difference to her.
By about 4 months she had started alternating which way she faced when she slept, and now you can't even tell that she had a flat patch, but believe me, it was really flat when she was tiny, I used to get so guilty looking at it thinking it was my fault, and thinking that I loved Sienna more coz she had a 'perfect' head shape

Tummy time!!! Tom had this too and it is coming right now thathe spends ALL his waking time on his tummy (he wont lie still anymore). He still sleeps on his back and now alternates his head by himself (used tohave a preference).

I relaxed after a friend told me her son had the same thing and it was so bad that she was referred to the uni for a study. What about a safety sleep, it shows on them how to use it with a the aid of a safety pin to side sleep them, would be a lot more secure than just a wedge.
Spencer favoured one side as well and we took him to a chiropractor it seemed to do the trick. Other things we did were to put a mirror on the non favoured side and when changing him would stand on his non favoured side to try and encourage him to look at us. Lots of tummy time and sitting position whilst awake should help as well.

We have tried that but she wiggles out and ends up with her head jammed up at the end of the cot and without any blankets!

Has anyone had expeience with this?

Bella is almost 3months old and I am worried about her head shape. She has always favoured sleeping on her right side and has a flat spot which is severe enough to push her skull plate forward slightly and made her ear on one side sit further forward than the other. If I look down onto her forehead I can also see that it is pushed forward there too. I am currently waiting for a referal but did a silly thing and googled it and ended up in tears.
I sleep her in a Occblock but she still favours one side, we also have been taking her to an Osteopath but it dosnt seem to be working.
Can anyone here give me some advice, experiences, treatment success stories etc?
