Author: emz
Subject: 15044
Posted: 06 March 2008 at 7:46pm

Bubs could have become slightly growth restricted, but not enough to worry about inducing. I was *supposed* to be induced because of IUGR with Jack but the hospital was too busy. He turned out fine anyway, will just take a while to get a big puku as his is 4 weeks behind the rest of his body. My FH was always normal, then at 28weeks it quickly dropped in growth until I was 5 weeks behind and had constant monitoring. He ended up having a growth spurt so was in the "safe" zone. 6lb is a good size, I think Jack was just under at your stage, he dropped from the top 75% to the bottom 35% in the matter of 6 weeks.

Try not to worry, but definitely check foetal movements, and if in any doubt, ring your m/w and if she sucks, ring the hospital to get a CTG done.

Fundal height can drop once bub is engaged, but I wouldn't have thought 4 1/2cm.

IMO, don't wait till Friday. Ask you m/w to arrange a CTG today to check on how baby is doing, and for a scan over the next couple of days to check fluid. I had to have CTG's every 2 days with the gremlins as my Sienna didn't move much and fetal movements are really the only way you have of measuring bubs health.
