rackhell yeah we have one i will try it tomorrow.not walking weather today...and i take it back bout NUK dummies...a friend bought one over and he loves it ..:)!

Those universal shade covers also tend to keep light winds from getting in too. LOL I gave up on the dummies, I got sick of getting up to put them back in again, in the end I got less sleep using the dummies than letting them CIO!

I always used a blanket over the top of the stroller, on a windy day I'd just hold it better! but probably not the best hehe. yeah i just worry about being too cold..like today he had short sleeved bodysuit and its my fault i thought i should just put a jersey on instead of putting a long sleeved one on...partly cause its a cold wind..then we get home...i undress some of him and he wakes up and now wont sleep..lol:) we are walking for fitness but very slow at the moment as I am still recovering from the c-section.. i will try the blanket and car seat thing and see how he goes.. I peg muslin over the capsule too, but you are probably better off in your pram if walking for fitness. You could try a nice soft blanket underneath Ethan in the pram, and using the head thing from the carseat is a good idea - the pram will likely have a harness to hold him in safely. I assume it has a lying down position?

I always used to put too many clothes on Anyssa when out walking - I think it gets quite hot in the prams with the sun shade over. I found it easier to dress her in less and cover her with a light blanket if necessary. we just went out he had bodysuit and jersey (light)and pants and socks with muslin pegged over the top and he was too hot..weird all the other babies who were out were wearing more an not hot!!

I would try him just in the pram, trust me they don't fall out (what I was worried about lol!) You can get universal shade covers at baby factory for $50, which fits our pram well. I wouldn't buy a special sun shade, just pull the one attached to it down and then put a muslin cloth over him, thats what I do anyway.

I use the NUK dummy as well - the sunny shaped silicone one and need a replacement and can't find the right kind... They aren't easy to find up here.

Tom never sucked his thumb but learnt pretty quickly to put the dummy in himself. But sometimes he will still wake and getupset becasue he cant find it (even though there are 2 in his cot). I walk in to find him pattting around for it with his eyes still closed.

I remember when he was little going back and forth to put the dummy in. kawwww in the happiest baby on the block book it says to gently tug it (out but not all the way) when you first put it in ... they instinctively suck harder ... apparently after time they learn to keep it in

oh and we just peg muslin over our capsule

With the pram I just safety pin a muslin or blanket over the top. You can get sunshades too.

Dummy - you can try very very gently pulling it out before he gets into a deep sleep. ok now i realise this first question shows how much of a first timer i am:)

I want to start walking daily with Ethan.. so that means putting capsule in pram and walking.. how do i keep the sun off him...the capsule and the pram dont join up so a strip of light gets in...to put anything over it would mean clipping it somewhere?maybe with pegs? we have a storm cover which obviously wouldnt work..so im wondering how I'm supposed to keep the sun off him? (sorry if this sounds like a ridiculous question)

and secondly.. Ethan settles well most of the time but on the nights when he have to give him his dummy he will fall asleep drop it and scream for us to put it back in.. besides crying it out(which I could manage if i had to but would rather other options)is there any way round that besides standing there? sometimes before he sleeps he will drop it and scream..we will go in and he's smiling at us once we get there.. so maybe that part of it is just attention..as if we stand there most times he will stop(though sometimes still scream if it falls out)

i just don tget it..sometimes he is fine..settles by himself no problems (like first sleep last night...) he was up at 1140 back asleep at 1220 till 330 then up till 530 no matter what i tried to get him to sleep:( up at 7 then straight back to sleep(and i did nothing different..(he's 5 and a bit weeks btw)
