Hmmm cake! I've been meaning to bake all holidays, haven't got to it yet. Although I bought the ingrediants for a dessert, so might make that tonight to eat while watching AI. I've been super organised tonight and dinner was cooked by 5pm! And all eaten by 5:15. That's unheard of in this house.

Yes, daph you must watch Legends of the Fall!!!

Well kids getting in the bath now, better go supervise.

Mmmm Brad Actually I don't think I've ever watched Legends of the Fall Will have to get DH to find it so I can watch it.

Lilia and I baked a chocolate cake today. I didn't read the recipe fully so there was a lot more cake than I expected and ended making 2 Yummy!! Can't wait for dinner time although maybe the kids can convince me to have cake for afternoon tea. Maybe I'll suggest it to them

OMG "Legends of the Fall" is on Vibe right now, my favourity movie!! Still remember going to the movies to watch it and crying. Brad's so hot. Can't help but think of him when I hear the name Tristan now.

This week has been much better, yay! I think every now & then I just need a day to let it all out

I think I really need to get onto TTing Lilia. I'm pretty sure she is totally ready for it. Just have to psych myself up to it I'm hanging out for Ollie to start morning kindy, then I'll have heaps more time to dedicate to her. I try to grab a few minutes with her as I can, just to talk or do something specifically with her, but to be honest when Ollie is around she isn't all that interested in me

Better be off, going to try and catch a shower while all the kids are happy. Hope you are all well

Trish the lake is cool huh? They madeover the whole area a few years ago, it's such a good place to take the kids to, they love it!

Hi Dawn!!

We are ... surviving. I guess at the moment that is the best way I can describe it! I knew having 3 kids would be full-on, but holy moly, the reality is something else!! Trying to balance everyone's needs is difficult. I feel most sorry for Lilia as she doesn't get alot of 1-on-1 time with me. Also I've been using the tv much more than I ever wanted to. I feel tense alot and have been getting grumpy and yelling - so NOT the type of mum I wanted to be! There have been days when I honestly feel overwhelmed and end up just crying It's certainly made me think that it might be better not to have another baby .

Wow, OK I didn't realise I was going to off-load all that on to you guys! Thanks for listening!

Don't get me wrong, even with all the tears and stress, I wouldn't change a thing. I know it will get better as time goes on and I figure out how to make it all work. Also I have to remember to not sweat the small stuff. I think this week has been worse because DH is in Auckland all week. Have to say, I think single parents are AMAZING!

Better go and get dinner sorted while C is asleep. Hope I didn't killl the thread!

Honestly though it's been pretty busy here the last month.
Working 3 days has been awesome but DH is generally away in auckland the same 3 days so it's been hectic! Thankfully that seems to have died down now so he's been around this week.

I'm at home sick today and yesterday. Have a yucky head cold and sore throat. DH had it last week too so guess it's doing the rounds. It's the first time in a long time I've been able to take sick leave and not have kids around so I do admit I'm slightly enjoying it

I can't belive Ava is 6 months already!

Daph how are you getting on with 3 in the house? I bet Ollie and Lillia are loving Caleb.

I have to admit I was in Hamilton last weekend catching up with family. We hadn't been there in over a year so had to dedicate my time to them as BIL came down from Auckland too. We'll try not let it go so long next time and hopefully we can catch up then Daph! We had lunch at the lake on Sunday, it was amazing. I never knew that play area existed!

Wow I can't even remember how long it's been since I posted in here. Sorry girls! Just quickly read back this page and the last.

Daph - I saw your nice early morning posts. Haha, the joys of pregnancy huh and not being able to sleep! How is Caleb doing? Looks like the older 2 are loving their baby brother.

Ooh exciting some of you are thinking of #3 next year! Even you daph (well #4 for you)! I love to hear of ones having 3 or more children. Makes me think I'm not so crazy afterall, having 4 children. TBH, I can't get over it myself, the fact I have FOUR children. Never in my life did I think I'd ever have this many. But I look at Ava and am so glad I agreed to having another bub. And I love to see how the older 3 love her too. Gia just dotes on her the most and is her mini-mother. But Rico and Jett are so good also. Rico said to me the other night how he wanted Ava to sleep in his bed with him. When I asked him why, he said it was because he loves her. Aww so cute of him.

Anyway I'm totally rambling here.

Trish looks like you had a fab time back home! How've the girls settled in since being back?

Kylie, it looks like your business is doing really well. Good for you!!

I have to pick Rico up from school shortly, so better go!

So i'll be expecting some announcements in Feb/Mar/April next year

Trish - cleaning fairy sounds fab! Hope your week is going well

DH went back to work on Monday and it's been OK-ish. I'm not sure how I'm menat to get everything done, but I keep telling myself that as long as everyone is clean, fed and reasonable happy then I'm doing an OK job. I have learnt that doing the kindy run in the car is MUCH more of a task than walking (stupid rain!). Looks like today is better, its foggy but no rain so far!.

Better get back to it

bahahaha! It's the expense of extra kids to fly to Ireland and back semi regularly that's stopping me from trying again. So maybe Spring 11 would be achievable for my will power to break

And definitely you can fit more in Christy. I mean bubs would be in with you for the first year anyway wouldn't it?

All is well here, been busy as. The girls are in daycare Mon-Wed and I start working 3 days a week as of this week. I'm looking forward to getting some decent work projects again.
Oh and my cleaning fairy started last week. Best $50 p/w that I'm ever gonna spend

Yup that is Maddi too, and when she doesn't get her way she can be so strong, she will just throw herself. DH still doen't understand how she could ever be a little monster

I discovered the toy library this morning (I got a free membership for doing face painting for them earlier this year) The girls have been so busy today it has been great, even I am having fun building houses with Duplo!

Drives me batty!!

Still early days but things are going OK so far. I think we are all still trying to find our feet/place again. Caleb is such a lovely baby, so snuggly! The kids have been really good with him, Lily loves to kiss him ALL the time and Ollie is like a little mother, always checking to see if he is OK. Sleeping is a liilte here and there, but I guess thats what the first few weeks are all about huh?

Better go and start getting dinner sorted

Oh dear about Jackson ignoring you, at least he seems to have got over it pretty quickly. Ahahaha he is so gorgeous! I love that song, whenever I hear it I can't help but think of Glee Gosh you really do need some time off Kylie, you've done well to get through half of the weekends shoots already!

Julia - It would have been very cool to meet you too! I'm SO glad we made the trip to Auckland, I'm so pleased with the pictures you took Kylie.

Christy - the freedom is awesome isn't it? I love being able to hop in the car and go whereever, whenever! Well before 10pm at least (I must say I keep forgetting about that bit!).

I'm hoping this boy decides to make an appearance a little early. I'm actually at the point of being over being pregnant I never actually got to this point with the others, I got impatient to meet them, but not sick of being pregnant. I've started to have my show (just little bits though) and he is so low my mw could only feel his shoulders, so I'm hoping it won't be too much longer.

Other that feeling sore and tired, I'm enjoying being at home with the kids (other than the major tantrums my little drama queen throws occassionally!). It's so lovely to see how the kids interact with each other throughout the day. When we pick Ollie up from kindy, he always runs up to Lily and gives her a cuddle and kiss

Sorry for my absence.. Im doing a quick post while I wait for my photos to export...

Lovely to meet you on Saturday Daph, I've finished your photos so once I've finished everyones I'll post them all out - I've done half of them so far.. then I've got to start on the ones I've done this week. At the rate I'm going I'll need a holiday very soon! I spend all night on the computer editing, and while Jackson is asleep.. so no time for DH at the moment

Thanks Christy, I think they are getting better too! Dh handled things really well, but he was pleased when I got home!
Jackson wouldn't look at me when they collected me at the aiport, he completely snobbed me! I think he was letting me know he was not impressed with me. He finally got over it that evening.
He is really chatting away now.. every night when I strip him down for his bath he sings Beyonce's "Single Ladies" and goes "All Singlet, all singlets, whack ya bum whack ya bum whack ya bum!" and he whacks his bum like she does. Gosh its hilarious!

Congratulations on your licence Christy... now you can run away to my place

Gosh, I thought having my learners for 8 years was ages I think it will be at least another 8 years before I get my full.
Been out on my own for the first real time today (DH had to work all weekend so he stole the car), it was so much fun. I felt so grown up :P I took Maddi with me and really enjoyed shopping with just her.

I really need to get my A into gear and sit my full, I've 'only' had my restricted for 7 years (and had my learners for 10 years before that)

I can't wait to see who this bub will take after too. I hope he has dimples like his daddy Both O&L were overdue by 4 & 5 days respectively, so I expect this one to follow suit, just hopefully no longer than 5 days!

We are off to Auckland tomorrow for a photoshoot with Kylie - very exciting! Be nice to finally meet her and get some awesome photos to boot

Your week off sounds lovely Daph! Less that 2 weeks until the due date, Lilia was never on time though was she?
I wonder if I can convince anyone to steal my girls for a week

I really cant wait to see what this baby looks like. Lilia and Olli are so different, Lilia is just like you and Ollie is just like his dad.

I sat my licence today and I PASSED!!! I am so excited, I think it is only just setting in. It was honestly the scariest thing I have done in my life, I bungled it so badly, but I think he knew I was nervous and sick and gave me it out of sympathy. It feels like the biggest achievement in my life, I would say its even more of an achievement that having babies I am so relieved it is over, I started crying as soon as he told me I passed and was crying for the next few hours. I couldn't even drive I was so overwhelmed.
I took the girls out in the car this afternoon and it was so easy, the possibilities of where we could go seemed endless.

Oh dear Christy. Lilia also has a very stubborn streak and doesn't listen half the time. We have to say her name 3-5 time before we get a response and usually the response is along the lines of 'What?' and in a very similar tone to a sullen teenager!

I'm loving my week at home by myself (bad mummy!) but I'm getting lots of things done without feeling rushed or frazzled about it all. Saw my mw yesterday and all is looking good. Bub is measuring the same as last time which is good! At least he's not continuing to grow at an alarming rate Lilia was 9lb 2oz, but she actually measured a few weeks behind by the end of her pregnancy. I'm thinking this one takes after his brother and will be long and straight-backed, whereas Lilia was a squishy baby

A week with out kids sounds good! Hope you enjoy it. Last day of work.. woohoo!

Had a shocking day yesterday.. Maddi is refusing to listen and time out really doesn't seem to be working with her. She ended up with a split tongue after bumping into something with a pipe in her mouth and almost got run over.
She did have a good afternoon toilet wise and after figuring out her tantrum was over her wanting to wear undies she managed a dry afternoon :) I guess that kind of made up for her bad morning.

Freezing day here today! Wishing I didn't have to go out but I have been roped into doing a fashion show for kindy and need to try to find some clothes that will actually fit me.

That's not nothing, that's spending quality time with your girls! Plus it was a fairly awful day yesterday I think it's a great idea to be in front of a nice warm fire.

I've kept the kids in care for next week so I have 1 week to myself I kind of feel a little guilty about it ... but only a little

Saw my mw today and I'm measuring 41cm No wonder everyone thinks I'm huge. Ah well she wasn't worried about it, so I'm certainly not

Christy - I totally understand! When Lilia got out of bed this morning I'm pretty sure her nappy was fairly dry. I probably should have got her on to the toilet, but well to be honest I just CBA!

Daph, hope this last week of work is going well!

Gosh its freezing today, I am loving sitting by the fire though!
Girls are being good (I am bribing Keira with boots I brought online for her last night, they were too cute - I am jealous!) I tried a day without nappies (we ran right out) and I really don't think I am ready yet. She was ok, as expected for her first day in undies - accidents all day long... Mummy just didn't have the energy to keep up and was extremely relieved when Daddy came home with nappies.

I think that routine sounds awesome Trish, especially the bit where you nap too!

Another early morning for me though not quite as bad as the other day thank goodness! Wouldn't be so bad if I had a bub to care for.

My replacement starts today, yay! At least we'll have over a week for a good handover.

FIL ended up in hospital yesterday. He has gotten so weak and frail it's sad to see. DH & his brother had to discuss the current DNR order and that had to be the worst conversation for them

Anyway I'd better start getting stuff ready for today. It takes me such a long time to do things these days. Not sure if it's being preggy, the cold or simply lack of motivation!

Christy, I forgot to say my 2 are still having day naps. Currently as they're sharing a double bed I get into bed with them to settle(and sometimes I end up napping myself). If I leave them alone in the room then they play up and don't nap. I think I might continue that routine when we are back in NZ

Having said that they're not going to bed until 8pm at the moment as it's too bright. It'll be back to 7pm bedtime when we get back.
They still wake between 6:30-7:30 so I guess they need the extra sleep.

I couldn't survive if Lilia didn't nap! Ollie still occasionally naps too. We didn't stop his until he was about to go to kindy, so he was around 3 & a half-ish. I hope Lilia is the same!

Lol @ the knock knock joke Trish! And I bet the girls grandparents are loving having them there too.

Didn't end up going to work the other day. I got into bed at 5am and then the kids woke and came into our bed for cuddles. It was lovely but didn't really get much of a sleep before I would have had to go to work!

I'm really stoked right now, just got back from seeing the mw and bub is head down and engaged! Yay, it's such a feeling of relief. The funny thing is everyone told me I would feel him flip but I really have no idea when he did He did drop the other weekend and my mw says it was probably then. Right better get back to it, lunchtime is already over ... whoops!

My 2 have really started chatting these days too. It's amazing what they come out with. I'm busy trying to perfect a knock knock joke with them

All is good here, only 1 week left now. I'm really looking forward to getting back to DH and to my own house.
No more trips 'abroad' unfortunately Christy They girls are having a ball alternating between the grandparents houses. My parents live well out in the country so they get to so lots of things they don't normally do.

I was having a pretty good day at home today until about 4. Maddi decided not to sleep today, she just sat in her bed and played quietly for a couple of hours, turns out she doesn't handle not having an afternoon sleep so well. Is anyone else still having their afternoon naps?? I know Keira had stopped them well before she was 2 and I am thinking I may be heading near to the end of them

It's 4.20am, I've been awake since before 3am and I still feel wide awake! Somehow I don't think I'll be going to work later

Yep 2 weeks of work to go, I am so ready to finish up. Thankfully my manager has just employed my replacement, and she can start fairly quickly so I actually get to handover to someone. I was beginning to think it wouldn't happen.

I think I may have missed the boat a little with L's tt-ing and to be honest, now I don't even want to think about it until bub is here.

I how much she talks ... mostly I love listening to her and Ollie talking it's so cute! And some of the things she comes out with are classic. I love it when she 'helps' me stand up, 'Me help you mama' and she puts her hands under my arm and pushes upwards, though she makes lots of straining noises like it's hard work!

Right, I'm starting to feel a little cold so might head back to bed now. Hopefully I'll fall asleep!

How is everyone??

Daph, only 2 weeks until you finish work The countdown is getting close! I so cant wait Hope that baby is still behaving... Maddi seemed to be transverse all the time right up to her birth, I really dont know how she had so much room, I would often feel her doing full flips and I used to think she was having far too much fun to ever come out.
Keira just had her Kindy photos too and I cant believe how old she looks in her class, only a couple of months and shes at school... now thats scary!

Trish, Where are you theese days... I want to go somewhere.

Kylie.... you redeemed your voucher yet

I am still being lazy on the toilet front here, I just have to do it but I find it so hard when we are out in the mornings (playgroups etc) then she has a sleep (or at least I try to get her to have a sleep) and then there is only a few hours until bedtime and I am frantically busy in that time getting dinner sorted and everything.... gosh I am shocking at making up excuses! She is really really good at telling me when she wants to go when she wants to, she still goes in her nappy sometime but only because she can. I have just brought some training pants so will see how we go with them.

She is talking so much, I think she can almost hold a full conversation with Keira I used to think Keira talked a lot but now having two of them going at once

Saw my mw today and bub is now breech. But the good kind of breech, he has his bum in my pelvis. If he is still like that when I go into labour I'll actually be able to try and birth him naturally. Hopefully we'll get him to turn before then though!

Lol, it has been a while

We are doing pretty good, feel myself getting tireder (sp?) during the day, but 'only' 4 weeks of work to go yay! It's not so bad when I can browse OB at work, lol. Though because the the errors, it meant that yesterday dragged!

Ollie had his first kindy class photo at kindy this week, feels like he is growing up so quickly He and Lily also got some photos together. Can't wait to see them!

Christy, I haven't been doing anything with Lilia and TTing. She'll usually sit on either the toilet or potty before a bath which is good. I'm sure she is probably about ready but to be honest I'm being a bit lazy!

Oh and bub is currently lying transverse I've been hanging off the couch up-side-down trying to get him to spin, but no luck so far ... I don't think at least. I'm never sure what is a head and what is a bum Anyway got a few more weeks yet for him to turn.

So glad it's Friday - yay!

Kylie, how did Jackson appointment go? Happy Belated Birthday!!! Thank you so much for inviting us, I was gutted we couldn't make it.

Nothing much exciting to report here, Life is just ticking along. Funky monkeys were cool, Maddi loved them!
I still need get of my butt and do something about TTing.
I am really tired at the moment though, I think I am fighting something off.. have a really sore throat at the moment.

Oooh yes I know the funky monkeys, we saw them at christmas in the park!

I really want a kitten but the last one we had caused us so many problems.. I don't think we are meant to have pets Harriet is very cute!

Jackson tells me everytime he goes poos or wees, but freaks out near the toilet, its frustrating!

Christy, Jackson has been running with a bit of a limp and seems to be curling his foot in. We saw a paed and she wasnt happy, so she referred us to an orthapaedic surgeon. He said jackson is turned in at the hips (his feet can be pulled inwards over 90 degrees but wont go more than 45 degrees out the other way :S) so we are now having an xray done on his hips. Looks like he'l be getting some funky shoes

Yay, go Maddi with the TTing! Sigh Lilia is in size 3-4 knickers and clothes in general (not that she is anywhere close to being tt). I can barely pick her up now the girl is so big/heavy!

Harriette is gorgeous Christy! And yep I know who the Funky Monkeys are though have never had the pleasure of actually listening to them ... yet!

I'm so tired, I really don't know if I'm going to make it til midnight!

So jealous of all that went to the wiggles, I really should have just got tickets. We are going to the funky monkeys tomorrow (if you have any idea who I am talking about?!? The girls love them - should be fun, even DH has taken the morning off to come too.

I am so over painting the house. It is looking okish from the road at the moment so I am thinking it may just stay that way for a while I have decided to not paint this week any way, the girls have probably watched more than enough DVD's these holidays.

We got a kitten!!! Its is so cute, I actually quite like her She is soo sweet and cuddly and very patient. The girls are loving her too, Keira has been mothering her all day long. Maddi is taking a little longer getting used to her but she had her first real cuddle tonight, which is huge from a girl who 2 days ago wouldn't let me put her down with a kitten in the house.

Maddi is really going for it with her toilet training, I reckon if I put a concentrated effort into it she could be fully trained in a couple of weeks. She has been telling me the last few days when ever she needs to go and she will actually go, both 1's and 2's. I still have her in a nappy and she does get lazy and fill it every now and then but is mostly dry. I need to get her undies but I am really strugling to find her any small enough.. ?!

The house sounds great Kylie! And it must be a weight off your shoulders to have it sorted. Eek cell phones! I guess it's good to be able to contact her and vice versa especially when she is further away.

I'm trying to stay up until midnight tonight so I can buy tickets to Eclipse. The movie doesn't screen until 1/07/2010 but I want good seats! Plus I'm buying for 12 people

Actually I don't think I'd be getting much sleep tonight if I did try to go to bed as I have reflux And this boy is being very active!!

Oh Daph, Jackson had a wee infection a few weeks back too!

Yes we found a house, and it looks like we were lucky we took it... over the last two weeks there has been nothing new come up on trademe.
We have a drive over a hill every day though which is going to be a PIA, BUT, my parents are there, my best friend is there and all of my extended family.
We are looking at putting Janaya on the bus every day to get to school, I have a cousin at college who catches the morning bus who would be able to look after her. We've also got her a cellphone (its scary!) in case we need to call her.
Looks like we will be better off in the long run, and best of all it has a spa bath

Off to see an orthapaedic surgeon this morning for Jacksons foot!

Kylie did you find a house? I think from memory & FB you had a couple of places lined up?

Trish - Hope you are enjoying your time in Ireland. Sounds like the girls did really well on the trip over, yay!

Christy - your house is looking wonderful! I love the colours you choose. DH & I are thinking of similar colours when we eventually get around to repainting the house.

Things are going well here. Ollie had an infection in his, erm, 'boy bits' - that has now cleared and his behaviour has gotten so much better - I wish we had of picked it up earlier. Lilia has a bit of a cold, but is coming right now and thankfully it appears to have bypassed Ollie, DH & I. I'm really looking forward to finishing up at work (7 weeks to go!). I have a couple of annual leave days up my sleeve so may do a few half days when I get really tired.

It was an awesome weekend here in Hamilton. We all got out in the garden and managed to clear out a good chunk of 'the jungle'. We've bought weedmat and will lay that before the weeds start taking over again, and then at some stage figure out what to plant! The kids were having a ball playing in the dirt, making 'cakes' and helping

On Sunday we caught up with good friends we don't really see that often and had a picnic down at Hamilton Gardens. It was loads of fun and Lilia has developed a little crush on one of the boys - every time he was out of her eye-sight she would ask, 'Where Thomas?'

Sounds like the Wiggles were great, we went last year, and the kids loved it!

This kids were so cute this morning I walked into the lounge and they were having a cuddle on the couch while watching TV I got the camera out but they had stopped cuddling, however as soon as Ollie saw the camera he grabbed Lily for another cuddle

Packing all done. Just have to go get snacks and nappies for the plane. Need to do a big hoover and clean the fridge and then we're sorted!
we fly at 8:30. Will head out early and get dinner at the airport. Have Koru membership for the trip. Whoop!

Glad Jackson enjoyed the wiggles. We went to the 1pm show. They were overwhelmed and tired but all in all loved it!

Afternoon!

Happy Birthday again to Lilia and Maddi (Sorry daph, I don't think I actually said Happy BIrthday to her )

Just got back from the Wiggles concert, Jackson absolutely loved it. We managed half an hour of him not even moving.. towards the end became a bit of a nightmare but all in all it was a success! He's absolutely exhausted now.

We are still trying to find somewhere to live.. we found two places that we loved, signed up for both in the hope that at least one of them would be ours.. turns out one is now going on the market and the other we havent heard from, but they've taken the ad down so obviously we weren't successful. We have just over 3 weeks before we have to be out of here.. its not a good feeling.

Maddi's Birthday 'extravaganza' is finally over. She had a wonderful weekend. We had coffee group on her birthday, we went out for lunch with her Granna, visited her Great Grandparents (well technically they visited us) and then Pizza for tea. Then on Sunday we had her party, which was fun, slightly chaotic, but what party isn't ;) I think face painting at my own party is slightly nutty... but the kids had fun :D

Been busy gardening today, had to come in because it got too dark. Yay for a short week this week, although its looking pretty busy.

Oh my - all these birthdays! Happy Birthday everyone!

Ooooohhhh Christy........ waiting is a ********

Trish - Enjoy your holiday! It's great that the girls are excited about the plane! Lol about the shoes!

Jessica's birthday, we had a little party in the morning - all the care kids came + a couple of others. One of the other Mum's brought a bouncy castle along - that went down super well! In the evening, we did the family thing. So meant 2 cakes, but we got there!

All is good here. Cayley doing awesome at school. Moves up a class next term. Has jumped 3 reading levels in the last month & her spelling is so cool to see. She is so excited about learning - long may it continue! Cayley also loves Pippins - has earnt her first badge by selling Girl Guide Bikkies. Rebekah is LOVING kindy. For homebased, we went to the firestation last week. The girls all thought that was so cool. They got to climb in the engine then have a go with the hose.

Feeling a bit crusty today, so cancelled the care child i had in - not supposed to have him when sick anyway.... So this morning its just Jess & me - place seems a little quiet lol!

Oh well, better go see what destructor girl is up to! Catch you all later.

DH is coming to Ireland with us but will only be there for 10days . I'm doing the return trip on my own with them. Should be fine
Kaiz, yeah I've 2 sisters getting married, 1 on April 9th and the second May 22nd. I'm bridesmaid for both as well and the girls are flowergirls. Guess I'll just have to buy something nice for the hen night

Jackson has been so wonderful this week. Thankfully he is on the mend, and he is such a delight during the day when Janaya's not home! He especially loves going to the Gym creche, and will wake in the morning and say "Gym? Maybe? Morrow? He goes 3x a week at the moment but I've been ringing every so often for a casual session so that DH can take him while I work!

Gosh I can't believe that 2 years (and 2 hours) ago I was holding my (not so wee) newborn baby!

DH & I had a wonderful time on our anniversary. The funny thing was that we didn't do a heck of a lot, but that suited us just fine! I took the kids to my SIL house then picked up McD's for brekky on the way home Then we had breakfast in bed and DH told me he hadn't ruled out the idea of #4! Which is actually really cool cos I'd been thinking about it too recently ... though this will of course all depend on how we go with 3! My DH is away this week as well Dawn. I'm just glad it's mid week as normally he's away on weekends diving. Looks like he'll be working in Auckland for most of the time that we're away so it's pretty good timing!

My girls are very excited about getting on the plane. Actually they got a book in the post yesterday from an Aunt. It's 'Topsy and Tim go on an airplane'. It's well written and it's making them even more excited.

Sounds like both boys had a great time on Lockies birthday.

And ppft to packing. I am up to date with the washing. That's enough for me. We're going for long enough that I just need to pack ALL clothes Plus MIL has said she's bought the girls loads of clothes ( and will buy more when we get there) so I'm not overly concerned. Also helps that I'll have 3 sisters wardrobes to raid too. They only thing I'm thinking about now is how many pairs of shoes to bring

Lockie had a great time at his birthday. 14 kids running around, its quite a handful. It was full on for the 2 hours that they were here, but it was all good fun. I was gla to sit down in the evening. Even Liam was right into the games. We did a treasure hunt, lollie scramble, egg and spoon race and pass the parcel. I will eventually get around to putting photos prob on FB.

Hi all

Happy Birthday to Soph, a little belated (if you still read this Emma).

Well its now time to wish my Lockie a great big happy 4th birthday. Man how time flies. I still cant get my head around that he will be at school next year.

Cake was baked last night all I need to do is add the final touches tonight for his party tomorrow. He's have a few of his friends around to help him celebrate.

Oh thats right talking about plunket checks. I took the boys last Thursday and:

Liam was 14.26kgs and 95.5cm tall
Lockie was 18.56kgs and 107.5cm tall

At the same ages Lockie was 2.5 cms shorted than Liam and .26kgs lighter. So not much difference. Liam definately seems to be slowing down.

Hello All

Well its been a couple of busy months here.

A very belated Happy Birthday to the twins.

Thanks for the anniversary wishes and birthday wishes for Liam. We had a family get together on Saturday for both the boys (to keep the peace with Lockie as his cousins from Wellington came down, and DH thought that he might be a little put out that they wouldnt be coming back down for his in 2 weeks). It all went well. A very busy weekend as we had Nana's 65th surprise birthday on the Sunday as well. Liam didnt handle it too well so I had to miss out on lunch (as we were at a restaurant) and I took him for a drive and he was asleep within minutes. He was however waking up at 5.30am or earlier for the last couple of weeks and surprise surprise last couple of mornings he has slept till after 6am. Last eye tooth finally cut!!! Only 4 more to go. So I am sure when he is teething its why he wakes so early.

So many things have been going on its hard to even remember what they all are to give you a slight recap.

I so cant believe my baby is 2 years old now, not to mention I am going to have a 4 year old in a weeks time. Now that is a scarey thought!!!

Liam is missing the odd day sleep these days and man these boys go hammer and tongs especially if Lockie is tired too. Means early bedtime and so pleased to see the back of them too.

Looks like we are heading up to Wellington over the easier holidays from Wednesday 31 March for a week. Anyone keen to meet let me know. In saying that I'm too chicken to drive anywhere than Christchurch.

Liam fell off the climbing frame that holds their swing on it tonight. That boy really never learns. He cried for a bit and was pointing to his knee and head where it all hurt not to mention saying knee and pulling up his shorts.

Preschool is going well for the boys, they seemed to have settled back nicely. The preschool has been building a new nursery and confverted a whole house, its amazing and so much more room for the kids to play around in. They now cater for the 0 -3 years in the nursery area and the preschool is 3 -5 years. I always thought when Lockie went through to the preschool at 2 there was a big age difference between 2 and 5. So this way I think both get the advantage.

Ok must go to bed, eyes are finding it hard to stay awake.

Glad to hear all is well in the Rascal family Gosh I dont think I am looking forward to all the after school activites. Guess I am going to have to get my licence one day. I drove SH1 today and didnt panic - I was so proud of myself I am getting there slowly.

Looks like Jessica is the next birthday - are you doing anything for it??

Trish - I love love love the photos of the wot wots!! I so wish I could have gone! Is Aoife really that much taller than Eimear? How long until the big trip now?

Daphne, I think that was another reason i freaked a little - I thought it was my cake The flowers look so cool, and are pretty easy too :)

I think all these accidents are really toughening Maddi up, the little things dont bother her at all anymore, I just annoy her if I try get a cuddle.

Maddi really had me confused the other day, she came out of her bedroom in the morning with no nappy on. I went back to hunt for the nappy and could not find it anywhere! It just so happened that the night before when DH went to tuck her in he picked up a nappy from the floor and put it away. So Maddi slept the whole night without a nappy and was completly dry I think it was totally a one off as she usually wakes with a very full nappy but I was quite impressed.
We are still getting there slowly with the toilet training. She finally did a couple of wee wees on the potty last week, a total fluke, but now I know she knows what she needs to do. She has been taking her nappy off in the afternoons but usually just holds it in until bedtime.

Right better actually get doing something today. We had a busy morning facepainting at a playgroup and then DH took me and the girls out to the place we got married for lunch and then a little shopping (it always ends up for the girls)

I am loving making the most of the sunshine, another BBQ tonight

Kylie. Hope things look up soon. That was funny about Jackson & his fart though!

Busy busy here. DH & I were crook last week. Jess got it in the weekend, then after seliing Girl Guide Bikkies yesterday, Cayley pukes all over Daddy! (rather him than me lol!)

The life of a 5 yr old is just plain crazy! So can't wait til all 3 are doing after school activities - NOT!!

All ticking along normally here at the mo (other than illnesses....)

I so can't believe that we are in the midst of another round of birthdays! Happy Belated for Liam! Jessica is 2 on Monday (or as Cayley so nicle puts it - 6 more sleeps!) That is sooooo toooooo close! I want my baby to not grow up!

Kids in the wars - Rebekah came off a tramp this morning at coffee group - my word that girl can cry! Got a nice egg on her cheek under her eye & a graze on her shoulder. Jessica is always crashing / falling into, off things. If the kid would stop climbing, she would stop having accidents. Far as she is concerned, if Cayley can do it, I can lol!

Anyway, off to deal with the kids now.

Aoife was scared of seeing herself (or Eimear) wee. After we've had some nappy free afternoons she's realised it's not so bad. Even better if she gets to the potty and gets chocolate Pity it's all by chance so far. Eimear is totally ready for training but Aoife not so much.

Hi everyone!

Long time no hear!

Have been meaning to post all week.. I've had one of those types of weeks where you just wonder if anything could get worse! I had my mum in hospital the week before last, then had to go there last week for a paed appt with Janaya.. then two days later I was back for Jackson, and THEN this week Janaya was admitted, twice.. so I've spent 10 days in hospital so far. Gah!

Jackson has been running funny since he learnt to walk, mum told me to get it checked and I thought it was just a normal kid thing, turns out its not The paediatrician said theres some resistance when she tries to correct his foot, so she's referred us to an Orthapaedic Surgeon *sigh* I assume he's going to have some sort of inserts in his shoes to correct it.

And Janaya was back in hospital, this time for her bowels. I have to take Janaya back on Thursday to Outpatients as well!!

Business thing slowing down for me too Christy.. Which is quite frustrating! Well, it is for me as I rely on income coming in
We have been lucky enough to have been awarded a Maori Grant, so we have a business mentor and also an application to apply for funding.. fingers crossed we get it!

Anyway, Happy Birthday Liam!! You have been so quiet lately Dawn, where are you? And where on earth has Emma disappeared to?

Jackson has been driving me batty lately with his nappy pulling. The other day I woke up to him screaming blue murder, so I ran into the bedroom and found him standing at the door with a trail of pee from his bed to the door.. he'd taken his nappy off in bed He seems to be scared of seeing himself wee Not sure how we are going to fix that one.

I also have to share... the other day Jackson was sitting on the floor and he did a really long put-put fart.. he sat there for a second and then looked up and said "Lawnmower!!!" lol!

Tishy- we were planning on going to the wot-wots to, but Janaya was still unwell. Wished we had of been there, it looked like great fun!

Oh no! Poor Maddi I hope she isn't like LIlia coming up to me every few minutes ... "me hurt me mumma." Drives me batty particularly if shes barely even done anything. I've taken to saying, "well don't do " Unless she's really hurt herself of course, then she'll get checked out and kisses and cuddles (I'm not that mean a mummy!).

Ahaha Christy Sorry for giving you a fright. I'm not a very good cake baker but a workmate gave me an awesome, yummy and best of all easy cake recipe so I had to try it out. And I really liked Maddi's (I think) b'day cake where you used marshmellow to make flowers ... pretty & easy (can you tell I like easy??)

No real plans for L's b'day, might have a little family thing, it should be better this year, she shouldn't cry whenever someone walks in the door

Helloooo!! I've been a bit slack catching up. I generally check ob on my iPhone these days, so a crappy keyboard to do long posts.

Poor Maddi in the wars. I tell myself it'll toughen them up.

We went to see the WotWots today at the zoo. The girls loved it! Thank heavens for our zoo passes though as we pretty much went there for the show and left again. It was so busy!

We've started telling the girls about the big planes they'll be going on soon. Thankfully they can visualize Granny and Grandad at the other end

I really spoke too soon. Just the other day she face planted on the concrete so she not has a lovely red nose and forehead (she keeps picking the giant scabs). And big fat fingers and a nail that will probably fall off after mummy jammed them in the door.

Shes still pretty happy, at the moment she likes to play games where she pretends to be someone else, today she was poppa, Keira was Mummy and I was Daddy. Apparently it was hilarious.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LIAM!!!!!!!!! Hope he had a wonderful birthday and party!

Who's next??

Daphne you really did make my heart skip a beat when you stuck up photos of the birthday cake - I honestly thought I had forgotten Maddi's birthday was really soon. Does everyone have Birthday plans?

Another Busy weekend here facepainting. It was really nice today, my parents took the girls (including one sick Keira who threw up in the night 0 fingers crossed that was a oncer and nobody else catches what ever it was) and DH came and set up a stall next to me. It wasn't as busy today but I had put up my prices so still made enough for takeaways for dinner and movies in town tomorrow :)
I have a few more jobs this week and then it seems to be slowing down a wee bit, I am looking forward to eventually getting a weekend off.

Right now that I am all caught up. Its nice chatting to myself Hope you are all doing well

I cant believe its going to be March tomorrow and most of our babies will be turning 2

Been a busy week here. I just painted 60 faces today for 4 hours straight.... I am pooped, my head hurts. A beautiful day too :) Right now I am thinking I dont ever want to paint another face, too bad I have a couple more to do this week.
Girls have been good for their Daddy though, I dont think Maddi needs a mummy anymore I went to get her up the morning and she threw her self to the floor with the most devastated cry, she wanted Daddy not Mummy.

Yep, emma is a big 4 year old now...she had a good day on sunday...her party is this saturday and everyone has rsvp'ed yes (ekk) so there will be quite a number of kids at our house on saturday.

Hi all,

Been a little hectic here lately - extra kids, funeral for DH's cousin + extra stuff in general. Pretty shattered here!

Daph, I found 1 to 2 harder than 2 to 3. Was dreading the 2 to 3, but really sold the other 2 short! They were awesome. Hope all is OK with Lilia.

Took Cayley to Pippins for the first time last week (the step before Brownies) She loved it! Wants to go back lol! She has had a busy week. Yesterday she completed a 6km bike ride for the rev (www.therev.co.nz) She was fantastic apparantly - Daddy took her - I got left with taking Rebekah to her swimming lesson with Jessica - there is sooooo a reason the she is normally in bed at that time! Kept climbing out of the playpen there & trying to get into the pool! Was hard work keeping up with her!

Happy belated Anniversary Christy & Dawn! Hope things sorting themselves out Christy. Ours isn't til the 27th! Won't be doing anyting I think. Might just get some nive takeaways after the girls in bed - Bazurk Pizzas do takeaways & they are YUM!

I am soooo loving my car ! Had my MPV since January. Makes life so much simpler! We started looking in May would you believe! Sold DH's car to pay for it lol! He misses his car. Must say, was great for the little trips etc.

POE - We have that disease in a big way here! Girls driving me mad with it!! Sick of the early mornings too. This morning Cayley turned the hall light on just after 6 today and woke everyone up grrrrr . Jessica just will not go back to sleep after that! Where did my sleepyhead go...........

No chickenpox here please...... Rebekah was exposed first week back at kindy, so looking like we might be in the clear..... 10 to 20 incubation period before spots isn't it?

Oh well, should carry on - supposed to be doing bookwork! Have a good day everyone.

Lol , yeah I hope I don't do that again (had a PPH due to fully retained placenta with Ollie) and man I had no idea how much it affected me ... until after I had Lilia and felt great pretty much straight away.

I forgot to mention that I took Lilia to Plunket for her check up last weekend and the plunket nurse would like to get her re-weighed in a few months as she is off the chart The PN mentioned that if she is still gaining weight like she is she'll be referred to a specialist in case she has thyroid issues.

Oh sorry, my bad!! Well I know a lot of people would say that 2-3 was easier than 1-2. In my case it was different I think because I hemorrhaged after birth, and so it took me a long time to come right after that, I was pretty weak and exhausted. So as long as you don't do that, you'll be right.

Hi!

My mum liked the name Caleb for my brother, but dad wouldn't use it because of the meaning too (the hebrew one), but then my Aunty went on to use it for their boy a few years later so it mustn't have bothered them.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY christy! Too bad things aren't too good between you and Dh. Why has he given up helping with the kids? Don't blame you for being grumpy with him over that!

Also, I found it easier going from 1-2 kids. But it would've been easier going from 2-3 if Gia and Rico were older. Rico was just 4 and Gia was 22 months when Jett came along, so that wasn't easy. It's actually been easier going from 3-4 this time as R & G are older and help out a lot! Even with Jett. But I didn't have that with Jett. Gia was still baby-ish and Rico couldn't/didn't listen to instruction like he can now.

The second and third aren't too bad (DH had only ever heard it meaning Dog)

At least you have a pretty good excuse for being tired!! You deserve to take it easy every now and then. Hope it doesnt take too much longer for Lilia to come right, fingers crossed no one else catches it?!

Just got home from playgroup and feeling blergh. Maddi was really quite exhausting this morning, she is just getting braver - climbing up the big big slide, far taller than me, with no barriers at the top
I am really glad Nana is there, this morning she followed her around all morning I almost got a break.

Not such a happy aniversary this morning, DH slept on the couch last night, and we didnt talk this morning. I did however get a "Happy Anniversary" writen with hairs on the shower wall.

Happy anniversary Christy Well, I hope it's a happy one.

I understand what you mean about being tired. DH has been working such long hours recently and all of last weekend. I had a mini-meltdown on Sunday morning and then was so exhausted that I had to take a day off work (I did absolutely nothing and it was great!). I guess it's a little harder to take a day off when you are a SAHM. I guess I'm lucky as I know that it won't continue and DH feels bad for not being around

Yay I'm glad that you got Maddi sorted. And I know what you mean about daredevils! Lilia loves jumping between couches too and just seems to have no fear (or maybe sense?!).

Lilia is better in that she isn't vomitting anymore. She is still really grizzly though, I'm assuming she is still getting over the bug, but will have to keep an eye on her.

Hmm I've found a few different meanings for the name Caleb, there is:
* Hebrew: dog; faithful
* Arabic: bold, brave
* Bible: one of the 12 spies sent by Moses.
I'm going with the Arabic meaning
