Leo has reoccuring nappy rash when he was cutting his firt teeth, it turned into a bacterial infection that required prescription bottom cream & oral antibiotics! I put him in disposables for about 5 days while it healed as I found that in cloth his bottom was staying so warm & ever so slightly damp that the sores weren't healing. It also meant that I could sanitize all of his nappies ready for when the infection was gone. He's been back in cloth for months now since and hasn't had anything back.

Vic xx

Maybe give them a strip with dishwashing liquid and a couple of clean rinses in the washing machine to make sure there is nothing on the material irritating his bum. Even if you don't think it's that. It's worth a shot just to be sure of it?

No they don't wear the same nappies. Sophie is still mainly in prefolds, and her pockets are not the same ones that he wears. Most of his nappies are mircofleece, but I doubt that is the problem, as he has worn them for ages without a problem. I will try using liners.

I always use tea tree or detol to sanitise. I'm sure it's not the washing thats the problem.

hmmm...maybe thrush then?? How would I know if it was?? He doesn't have any discharge, and its fine when he is in sposies?? I have put him in cloth this morning... will see how he goes.

Will try the cornflour trick too!! I have heard that works well!!

Thanks guys. If it doesn't clear up Ill take him to the Dr to get checked out!!

I have had to put him back into sposies (which I really hate)!!! I have tried no nappy time, nappy rash cream, changing him every 2 hrs, but nothing is working. Any ideas, As soon as he is in sposies in clears up in a couple of days, then I put him back into cloth and it comes back straight away. He has been in cloth for about 6 months and I've never had this problem before. Sophie is fine too... so don't think its what I'm washing them in. arrrgg HELP!
