Well Abby has done it now! We have just come back from the doctors, as my darling daughter climbed a chair fell backwards and cracked her head open.   
They have just glued it shut, deciding that it was a nicer option than stitches as she is so little. I swear she is trying to give me a heart attack. yes well i would have to say that is an early age brianna is 20 months 2moro and she climbs everything dont think she was climbing much at that age but even now we take her down and say no but she just laughs and thinks its 1 big joke and she has fallen off things plenty of times so sorry cant really help much i guess (hope) they will grow out of it fast enough.

Because at the time he still couldn't get out he was just very close to doing it. and we didn't want him running around which he did a lot of when we eventually put him into a bed. Gosh that sounds lazy. that reminded me keegs fell out the window about a mth ago and its quite a drop. Lucky there are shrubs there but was quite a prickly landing for him. He fell off the draws the other day ( was meant to be going to sleep) I heard a scream and god knows what he did but he had a bump on his head then showed me his back with a huge graze and lump on it. Abby was around that age when she climbed the couch to and then it was all down hill from there. Last night she opened the freezer and was trying to climb up the drawers.

Marlene abby's been nicknamed monkey as well, you must have freaked over the TV. I do take some comfort in the fact that she's not the only danger freak around. I am seriously suprised that she hasn't had concussion yet.

Angelnz one of mine tried to climb out the window years ago, yay for window locks. Kids have a lot to answer for I have decided.

I must have the youngest climber is 10.5 months and always gets up on the lounge drives me nuts, she too young to understand

She fallen off once so every time i need to go to the loo or somewhere else i have to drag her with me.

Keegan was like that from an early age too - from when he could walk. Everyone calls him the monkey and he has no fear. It was (and still is) contant telling him no and watching them both as jaidyn likes to climb now too. Its funny cos if we go to ppls hse im always running round checking on the boys and they are like "oh its ok the place is fully fenced" and Im like great you will see how well they will climb them then. But I know its stressful as you are so scared of them getting hurt. They boys pulled the telly on top of themselves trying to get on top of it. Lucky it landed on their legs and not their heads. They have learnt from that one lol. I watched my 11month old boy go and get his little trolley that his blocks go in and try to get on it to get further up the stair gaurd, Thankfully he is still too young to pull himself up or climb well BUT I think this is an indication of the grief we are in for. He is well aware what he can and can't do and often likes to play the "no" game. Like some of you mentioned above "no" is usually just funny to them. Hmmm i have no suggestions, my 13month old is the same. I try to show her how to get down backwards and she has mastered that but yes we have had a couple of falls too! My first was never like this I even caught Jayde the other day opening up the window above her sisters bed and sticking her leg out, little monkey. Come to think of it she was born in the year of the monkey so maybe thats why she likes to climb.

Jake is the same - however he understands no perfectily well, just giggles and ignores me. However he has some things that he IS allowed to climb - he has a small slide outside with a ladder, and that seems to stop him a little. Still climbs on the furniture and stuff. used to climb more, but after he fell off over and over, he stopped.

Omg I'm so sorry, 13 months is very young to start that!

My daughter is 19 months and just started to climb, we have found her twice on something high up, on the kitchen beach pretending to cook dinner (imagine if she turned the element on!!) and then on the dining room table lying down. We have a small house and can't move anything else so am not sure sorry.

Please please please, does anyone have any suggestions on how to stop a 13month from climbing. We have tried the no and moving her everytime she does it, but she just laughs.   

Last night I walked into the lounge and she was standing on the back of the couch balancing, I walked in just in time to see her fall backwards onto the floor. We have moved all the furniture as much as we can (small room) but she will climb anything and we are worried she is going to seriously hurt herself. I have even had to stop her climbing up onto the TV.

She's already had two rushed visits to the doctors for massive lumps on her head from falling but being such a young age she just gets straight back up and does it again. As I type this she has a black eye from hitting it on the way down from a desk. (She dragged our computer chair over to the desk and climbed it while I was getting lunch ready)

Micheal didn't climb because of his vision and Jayden didn't start until he was over two so was old enough to understand No. I now can't even leave her for a second.

HELP!!!
