My DH had walked at 4 mo and I wasn't having it so I pulled out her jolly jumper and purposely stunted her development.

She figured out rolling from front to back at 5mo about a month before she started crawling around (although she'd already been commando crawling for a couple of weeks prior to rolling) then went straight to pulling herself up and moving around the furniture.

She didn't figure out how to roll from her back to her front until about 10 mo - prob because she was mobile enough she didn't have to - and she didn't take her first steps (without the help of furniture or people) until the week before her first birthday.

Edited by MrsMojo

We had been told by our PAFT educator that sitting is the next progression and it is better for them to learn to do it on their own, as by putting them in a sitting position they are unaware of how to get to or from that position. He just started sitting up on his own one day not long after before progressing to pulling upand standing.

How have you found it?

My little boy has just started crawling and because he's so young we had barely started sitting him up. Now we've decided to leave him to it as much as possible since sitting is the next natural progression, but he's got super strong legs and I'm wondering whether he might go straight to pulling up and standing instead. Has anyone's bub 'missed' a stage like that?
