Lesieli was devasted and and was pretty teary for the rest of the night but they are both ok today. Now we have to get used ot her not being around. Yesterday I asked Sades to put her out.... then this morning Lesieli went to feed her..... I just told the girls it will take time to get used to her not being here.

We have other fur babies up in heaven so they will all be at the rainbow bridge with all your guys furbabies too having a great time.

FOr your unamed ginga cat that was thrown from a car BS. That is sooo sad.

I know that the rainbow bridge is full of our fur bubbas...and that my Riches, Rags, Mallowpuff, Sooty and my unnamed ginger kitten (rescued by us after someone threw him from a car and lasted a day!) will be busy playing with your fur bubba....

Oh Kels, I'm so sorry.

It's so hard to lose a pet (when my cat Clyde died I took 2 days off on bereavement - this was in my super clucky pre-baby days and she was my surrogate child).

Good luck with the after school chat to Lesieli.

Coincidentally I was at Paper Plus in Porirua on Sunday and saw a gorgeous picture book for kids all about a dog that gets sick and has to be put down and goes to heaven.  My cat got run over at some stage last night and this morning I run her over again... My poor Nikki-Blossom.

When I went out to the car this morning to put Alize in, I saw her sitting on the side of the driveway where she always likes to hang out. She was just watching us as she normally does. Anyway we got in the car to go and normally she gets up and walks down the driveway beside the car while we are leaving so I didnt think anything of her being there unitl

Lesieli screams..."mum you ran Nikki-blossoms tail and leg over I saw it in the side mirror"

Me:if you were watching why didnt you tell me she hadnt moved?
Lesi: I thought she was going too like she always does.

SO we get out to investigate she is still in the same place and cant get up at all. I call mum and she comes up as we are all beside ourselves at this point she bundles her off to the vet as I just cant face it. They said she had been hit in the night and had a broken pelvis and probably ran home on adernaline but was now paralysed and probably didnt feel our tyre on her

I think I am going to cry for the rest of the day for my poor wee Nikki-Blossom!!

ETA: she was put down at the vet and is now in cat heaven.
