Am i just been to pertective or what. I am having to carry our cat to the vets daily and the cage is rather heavy, i hope this is not going to cause any problems as i am 6 weeks pregnant...

Thanks Guys, I know I would feel better after I spoke to you all.

I have never had a misscarriage (Fingers Crossed) and so I guess I am going to be ok. And if this baby any thing like Zaara then will stay put with out problem....here is hoping!!

LOL no one told me that! I was lugging 30kg calves around in early pregnancy without problems.
I do think the "experts" tell you not to pick up heavy objects/children etc if you have problems with miscarrying though?
If you are lifting correctly though (straight back & bend at the knees) then you shouldn't have any worries

In the older child's eyes, you don't always have a choice! I've had to stop carrying both gremlins at once coz my back can't cope, but I still have to lug them around one at a time, put them in cots, on change table, in the car etc.

I didn't lift Maya at all when I was preg with the gremlins but she was 3 so old enough to understand. Oh we are very close to her, always giving her loads of time, hugs and kisses and she is use to it, but honestly she has never been this clingy. Mumma up, mumma up is always on her lips....no matter how much I explain to her. My little one is pretty clingy too, she's adapting to not getting carried tho as I started to phase it in before I got pregnant. I still lift her at times, but if she wants a cuddle we sit down on the couch and have one rather than me lifting her up for one. The sooner you can start the transition I reckon the easier they will deal with it later on in the pregnancy when you really just can't do it anymore.
Really she is a very tall girl, weighs 20kgs now, looks like a 5 year old, not a 3 year old. I still have to lift my almost 4 yr old 15kg girl sometimes.
Reason being she can be a rascal sometimes and runs away from me - if I have no pram with me I don't have a choice! (oh I'm 17 weeks preg but took my ticker away as it didn't fit )

Hmm.....When I drop Zaara to Day care she refuses to walk to her class so I have o carry her. I told her that Mumma has ouchy...but she doesnt care!!!

I think I am ok, and I will talk to my Doc and see what he says.

I was really worried about carrying my daughter but spoke to my MW and she said its fine as long as I don't strain myself.

Don't worry, I was caring for my niece quite a bit when I was expecting Ella and she was about 15kg. I picked her up quite a lot.
Same when I was pregnant with Benjy, I still carried Ella around as per usual.

I wasnt allowed to pick anything up including Izobel when i was preg with Eden, and used to tell Izobel that i couldnt pick her up but would love her to cuddle me and id either bend/kneel down to her or go and sit on the chair/couch and ask her to sit next to me.

I think that you are going to be OK picking her up as this is a normal stretching/lifting movement for you. Ok as you can see my stupid questions are back ....He he ha ha.

Now my stupid question for the day is:

Every one is saying that I should not pick up heavy object in the early stages of my pregnancy and are telling me to try and not pick Zaara up as she is about 15-16 KG's. However, how on earth am I going to avoid that? She has become very clingie recently (Mum thinks because she can feel that I am pregnant )
For second time mums how did you find it? is it really not safe or other people filling my head with crap??

PS I am still picking her up.....
