I went bra shopping on Monday. Spent $24.50 and got 2 bras and one matching underwear. Bendon in Otaki were having a good sale on.

I have just finished 1 puzzle and about to start another. It is my way of giving up smoking.

OMG I spend lat night till 1am outside talking with my neighbours. We did alot of gossiping and I learnt a lot about camp.

Ian just went to check on her and she's finally fallen asleep.

We're all good.  Michaela has decided that sleep is overrated, she's still awake now , but she does just play quietly in her room from 7:30pm so I'm not too bothered by it.  I think we need to cut her afternoon sleep, DH is not so convinced, she starts afternoon kindy at the end of this month tho so the decision is out of his hands.

Hugs Becks.  My grandad lost his memory temporarily too when he had a stroke, he's fit as a fiddle now though.  I hope your nan has a good quick recovery too.

We have just done a quick trip to Palmy. I got a txt from my sister this morning at 8am (very strange for her to be awake that early on a hoilday) saying can you ring me at home. I rang and she told me my nana was in hospital with a suspected stroke. I cried and told Nigel we were heading straight to Palmy to see her. We have just come back from there 1/2 an hour ago. Nan is good, but it took her a while to work out who I was when I went and saw her without the boys. Hopefully she will be ok, but I have told Nigel if nan changes for the worse I am going down there without the boys.

Evening all. We are back in Waiouru now and I am a lot happier. My FIL told Dh on Saturday that this was THEIR holiday too and would like some time to themselves. I told him fine we will leave then. But as we had plans (we spent the day in Welly yesterday) already made we left today. But FIL got a very frosty response from me everytime he spoke to me.

Oh, sun in Dunedin... what a treat! LOL.

I've gone soft after living in Wellington for so long.  We used to swim at St Kilda all summer even though the summer highs were only ever around 18-20 degrees and the one year we got up to the mid-20s it was a heatwave.  Nowadays when it's 18 degrees I have long pants and a sweater on.

Exactly!  Sometimes I feel like I have 2 preschoolers.

She'll get over it though, she always does, and often it's lovely having her around.  Michaela absolutely adores her (although if she hasn't stopped making her little comments by the time Michaela gets to an age where she pays attention to them I'll be putting a stop to them myself).

I do need to remember that this is the first Christmas without her DH so she's probably found that difficult - not that the grumpy old sod enjoyed Christmas ....but still *repeats mantra patience is a virtue*

Yep, that'd be right, I have no other older unhappy women in my online albums.  So this is why we're having Christmas by ourselves next year just Ian, myself and the 2 kids.

LOL Kelly, that would freak me out.  Michaela has an ear fettish so when she's asleep or resting against me I occasionally get this hand snaking across my face looking for my ear to hold onto (strange child).

I'm not 100% sure why MIL is annoyed but completely positive it's petty nonsense.  Actually I think it might be due to a few things.  I asked her to stop throwing food scraps onto the lawn as they're attracting a magpie and my cat ended up with diarrhoea after eating what she'd thrown out (she's throws meat and all sorts on the lawn "to the birds").  She ignored me and continued doing it so I asked her again on Christmas morning (after spotting the blasted magpie sharpening his beak on my fence) and offered to take her bread down to the traffic island at the end of the driveway for her, apparently she's been complaining to DH about that.  I was going to use her BBQ on Christmas day but it was orange with rust even after I spent an hour scrubbing it, she thinks I'm being a princess because I don't want to eat rust (or feed food cooked on rust to my family) so she was complaining to DH and my SIL about that.  She got annoyed that we didn't open gifts until around 12:30pm on Christmas day, I heard her complain to DH and BIL about that and she kept on coming upstairs making offhand remarks, telling me her other kids had let their children open their presents (that I was being a meanie not letting Michaela open hers) and went on to tell me her kids would have never stood for being made to wait (Michaela was more than happy with her santa sack for the time being and DH and I wanted to do gifts later so it was just tough for MIL) then when we did do gifts she thought we were doing them too slow - we usually hand a gift to someone and wait for them to open it before moving on to the next gift, under her instruction it turned into a feeding frenzy of gift greediness until I put a stop to it and told everyone to slow down (there's a picture of her in my facebook photo album, in the background behind my nephew, she was not a happy lady).  There's a couple of other things that it could be but those are even pettier so surely not - she wouldn't ever say anything to my face either so I don't really know what the problem is but I'm just leaving her to stew until she gets over it.

ETA: I actually think what it all boils down to is the same issue that we've had since she moved into my house which is that it's my house, I'm the mother, I'm the wife and what I say goes.  It must be very hard for her having been the mother of 8 and matriarch of her own household to move into someone elses house and not be allowed to take over but although we'll make concessions for her it's our house and our family and DH and I are in charge.

I hope you all had a great Christmas.  Ian's gift (AB jersey) finally arrived yesterday afternoon and he loved it (and then told me he would have liked a league one) and I think MIL is finally getting over her annoyance with me, although TBH I couldn't care less, so all is Merry in the Mojo household.

Back at work today *yawn* but not for long, 2 more days until I get another long weekend.

Michaela was absolutely beaming all of Christmas and boxing day and DH and I are rather pleased with ourselves since her favourite Christmas gifts are the ones we bought her. 

Michaela was having a bad dream this morning which cracked me up (the kind of nightmares 2 1/2yos have).  While I was getting ready for work I heard her moaning and so I went to check on her and heard her shout "NO" and shove her arm out then she started moaning "icecream.....icecream...." and shortly after that she woke up.  I assume she was dreaming that someone was trying to steal her icecream or something.

Ians Christmas gift hasn't arrived

It was dispatched by the store on Monday, I called the courier company earlier and they assured me it'd be delivered this afternoon and yet it's still not here *sighs* ah well, at least it wasn't a gift for Michaela.

I got my present from Mel and sent her a txt but it was so cool to receive something for me!!!

Finished my shopping today!!! Like 2 hours ago!!!

I doubt I will be back on before tomorrow (or the next day) so Merry Xmas to you all.

Yay for Cooper walking.  I'll have to have a look at the vids on facebook (I saw they were there but didn't have time to chec them out as I'd just logged in briefly last night to see if my brother had rsvp'd yet for tomorrow - he did.... finally).

I'm just trying to waste a few hours now until I can go home.  Roll on 1:30pm.

I'm not sure if MIL has hearing problems, listening problems, memory issues or is just annoying (lol) maybe all of the above.  I got a call from Ian this morning because she's stressing out about me using my oven today.  I told her she could use it to cook a pav but since she won't be home until after 5:30pm I can cook my bread rolls and dinner in it before then and give it time to cool for her to use it.  I told her all this yesterday plus I'm pretty sure we discussed it last week too and yet she was at our house this morning stressing Ian out about me using my blimmin oven.  Last night Ian told her he was popping into town with Michaela to do some stuff at work and some last minute shopping and she started stressing that she's got too much on today and she won't be home to look after Michaela while he was out  *sighs*  Love her anyway though.

Afternoon

I am trying my best to stay calm with the Secret Santa stuff but I am a bit gutted I missed out on a present after organising it all and what do I get nothing.

Anyway nuf about that. Xmas shopping isn't finished but I did get a dryer and a new car stereo on Saturday!!! Had to go and pick my BIL up from Hunterville on Friday night as his brand new $60k car broke down . Had to drove them off again yesterday so they could get back to Hams. Going to finish the xmas shopping on Wednesday - nothing like doing it the day before

We've had a really quiet day today.  We took Michaela to the mall to see Santa this morning and once she fell asleep this afternoon I sat down and watched a girly movie.  The weather here is gross so it has been a good day to stay inside.

Evening all.  I've just ordered Ian's Christmas present so fingers crossed it's delivered in time.  According to ferrit orders placed and paid for prior to 8pm tonight should make it in time so I ordered just in time.

I'm watching last nights survivor atm and waiting for DH to finish work.

I think the pate is because of the vitamin A in the livers but not 100% on that (I don't like pate anyway).

Hummus is fine (infact it's better than fine, it's highly recommended since legumes are really good for you) but you must eat it within 48 hrs of opening it.  Pate is a definite no no.

At the start of both pregnancies I was given a booklet put out buy the NZFSA with a pull-out of unsafe foods.

I love lamb!  It's by far my favourite meat.  In fact I ordered a lamb roast with my groceries last night yum yum yum.  I'm not sure if I have mint sauce at home though, I'll have to pick some up - oooh and some GF pitas and hummus for the leftovers.

OK, really hungry now better go and have my lunch.

I was wondering if that would be it since you mentioned them last night.  I've just found a replica AB jersey onsale at Ferrit for $109.99 which just fits into my budget. 

The only catch is we got rid of our credit card last year after we paid it off (it was evil and always enticing me to buy things) so I've emailed my mum to see if she'll buy it for me and I will put the money in her a/c *fingers crossed* my new years resolution is to hurry up and get a debit card so I don't need to call mum whenever I do online shopping.

We bought our car last year and while looking around the lot we test drove a people mover but Ian and I both felt ridiculous in such a big car with our little family.  We'll need to get one when #3 is on the way but that's a wee while away atm and our wee sedan will do us in the meantime.

Yay it's friday and Esther (if you're around) yay for the last day of school!

Michaela was so funny this morning.  She woke up awhile after her daddy got home last night and was in quite a chirpy mood.  In the end she fell asleep in bed with me and so DH went to sleep in her bed.  This morning she was lying in my bed awake and I said "there's someone in your bed Michaela" she sat bolt upright, turned to search the pillow and sheets (in my bed) and said "spider?".
