I had the same thing happen (and the same message) and when I went into my address book there was a random number where the names usually are. I deleted that also and have had no problems. I haven't changed my password but also haven't had it happen again and that was baout 2 weeks ago. Felt awful tho!

So check your contacts/address book and look for the number. becareful theres a trojan horse virus going round that is trageting hotmail - windows live messenger.which automatically distrubes to all you MSN contacts. My sis in law got it sent to her and accidently sent it to me (via msn) it went along the lines of  - is this really you? with your hotmail address and a link to view a picture. Luckily i have AVG antivirus which got rid of it cause I followed the link... but my SIL anitvirus had just run out and didnt have anything....

It sounds like your address has been spoofed (real tech speak lol) where it looks like you have sent it even tho you haven't. They pick up on active email accounts and use them.

I would change your hotmail password for a start. If it keeps happening, you may wish to consider opening a new hotmail account.

I just got a whole heap of emails in my inbox (hotmail) to say my message didn't send and then had a random one in there from me that I didn't send. This is what it said:
