BTW I use s26 gold, and find it really good. If you have to give them prune juice, how much do you normally give them? And do you dilute it? Just in case I ever need to.

Formula is a vital part that makes up 100% of their food at this stage. yeah its at the supermarket with the rest of the formula normally with the soya, goats milk etc i think thickened is AR in the Karicare range.

Will try prune juice next time cheers :)

Yeah prune juice is great and it's good for them anyway. for constipation prune juice is better as brown sugar bit harsh for such a little baby..(but does work well)

Yeah she is still quite spilly... do you get the thickened formula just at the supermarket still? I guess there is something different written on the can? MY GP told me that it takes their little tummies and bowels a good few weeks to get used to a particular brand of formula, so prob best to stick with one for a while and see how you get on.

I wouldn't switch back and forth to much. Finish one tin, then use the next.
Its ok to try different brands, but find one she likes and tolerates and stick with it.

I don't believe it is advised to chop and change between different brands as each brand is made slightly differently. We found for example that karicare made Daniel super windy but we only found this out after he had had a few feeds of it in a row. It's best to let their system get use to one type of food (formula) rather than changing all the time.

We ocassionally switch between the gold and non-gold versions of the same brand when the other isn't in stock but we get a few tins at a time.

I personally wouldn't switch brands of formula on a continual basis like that. Ok, so we have two different brands of formula. I am mostly still breastfeeding, but we give one or two bottles of formula a day at the moment, and I am seriously thinking that I am going to move from breastfeeding to full-time formula feeding.

My question is, is it bad to use different kinds of formula? We have 2 different brands at home, and we have used one for a while (Nestle Nan) but I can't stand the smell of it... so we have got a can of Karicare Gold as well. I have given her a couple of bottles of it. But since we have still got half a can of the Nestle one left, I want to finish it, not waste it... is it ok to be switching back and forth like that?? If not, then why not? Chloe seems to tolerate them both just fine, so far... but as I said, she still mostly has breast milk.

I don't really like the way the Karicare one goes all frothy either, so was thinking of trying the Heinz one after we finish the cans we have.
