Sounds fine to me. Like Gsmum said, it can be very confusing if you don't know what it all means. There is a huge variation in what is normal, especially in the early days because it all depends on when you ovulated and when baby implanted. So if you ovulated late then your hCG would be lower on a given day than someone who ovulated a few days earlier.
But the most important thing is that they double evry 36-72 hours. Wow 440! That sounds good! The first time I had bloods was at 4.5 weeks and it was 84 and the second time was at 5 weeks and about 5 days it was about 1300. It is supposed to double every day - sooooo if you take your figure and double it for 2 days that takes you to 1760 which is higher than I was at that stage and the murse told my my result was a strong one! Basically the levels may vary from person to person, but it just shows how much hormone is in your body (this hormone supports baby growth, ie keeps it alive during teh first 12 weeks or so)

see thats the problem with getting hcg levels results -unless you understand them or get an explanation with them it can be just as worrying... and some overseas sites which have them listed use a different measurement too so that can cause confusion.

I found a website that says average hCG levels at 14dpo is 59. Mine were 253! Hey Marlene!! I wondered the same thing 'cause I (at last count) had really high hCG, but for twins it has to be really high. As in more than double! I don't think mine was that high but find out tomorrow!! I think it is just a good sign!

Awesome news Emma! the aches sound pretty normal to me. PS. Shelley, your doc would have done an hCG count to confirm pregnancy, but they wouldn't neccesarily give you the numbers unless you ask. I have no idea what mine were with Maya.
The only reason it is a big deal for me is because of my recent m/c - my numbers were low and slow to rise with that pregnancy. The big thing is making sure the numbers double every couple of days. If you don't have a history of m/c most docs won't bother with a second hCG unless you have bleeding etc., but you can request one.
My advice - don't bother. It will only make you more stressed. My levels last time were low and I stressed. Now they're high and I stress. If I didn't know what they were, and know as much about pregnancy from my research for OHbaby! As far as the aches go, I had a lot of lower back and hip area pain with Josiah, especially in the early stages... And I am definitely pregnant! The hCG level was 253 which is awesome for how far along I am ,now have to wait till tomorrow to have another one and make sure they are rising. But I do feel more confident about this pregnancy.

Just a question tho - am having some achy pain on my right hand side, right about my hip bone. Has anyone else experienced this or know what it means? Also my lower back on the same side.
