Annie, you could have told me it was Handy Andy before I did it lol!!!!!

Unfortunately little ol' Cambridge doesn't have MHJ and I'm not sure what the fancy jewellery shops would charge just for a clean. Guess I'll ask them when I pick ours up.

I didn't actually do my wedding ring as I haven't taken it off since getting married so it was just my engagement rine, so my finger isn't feeling too bare lol. But a bit of a laugh - DH was busy gloating last night that the owner of a house that he did a job at (he's a carpet layer) rang the company he works for and told one of the ladies there that he was a bit of alright!!!! Eeekkk, I wouldnt of thought any kind of bleach would be good for rings etc
I use proper jewlerly cleaner on my engagment rings and such, Im too paranoid to use anything else. NONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONO to BLEACH!!!!!

I WORK FOR MHJ and have done for the past 5 years AND ITS A BIG NONONONONONONONONONONONONO and also NONONONONONONO to toothpaste!!!!!!!!!!!

Great idea with the vibrating toothbrush, tho, Jenna, I would reccomend that for sure!

It's Handy andy and warm water or cloudy amonia (works better) and warm water!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh no! My cleaning book says for diamonds vodka is the best cleaner but I have NO idea what it does to the surrounding metal thus I haven't tried it.

My SIL *helpfully* told me that the best way to clean diamond rings is a bit of janola and water. She has worked at a jewellers for ages so trusted her advice. Anyway I guess you probably only dip them in for a minute or so but silly me thought I would leave them to soak - then promptly forgot about them    End result is DH's ring has all these horrible marks all over it (as does mine) but jeweller said they should come off with a proper professional clean. My engagement ring on the other hand, has actually broken at one point and one of the diamonds in the channel has fallen out Luckily it was when I was holding it so I didn't lose it.   They are going to ring me with a quote to fix it.
