I initially had a new graduate midwife which was ok amd she was really nice but had to keep asking her supervisor about all my questions, so didnt feel completely confident with her. Anyway we ended up shifting so I had to change at about 20 weeks, and I am sooo glad I didnt end up having her deliver Hannah. I'm thinking about changing my midwife too, not that she has been outright nasty or rude at all, but I'm not feeling all that supported. i would book in with someone purely coz there is a shortage of midwives in nz at the moment and u want to be able to get one that can deliver when ur due.

I changed midwives at around 18 weeks. You can do it anytime. It is much better you are happy and comfortable. You should book in now, as you should have had a 12 week scan. If you don't feel comfortable with her or you don't find her helpful then change. You have to put a lot of trust in her. I am 15 weeks and i still don't have a midwife. The first two i tried have August off and the one i have my next appointment with is off for four weeks now.
