I was looking through my diary from when Caitlyn was born and i found this poem, then thought to myself ....hmmmm , who should i subject this master piece onto ? and i thought, aha! the gals on Ohbaby :-P
sorry ....

My Dear child

I offer you my hand
I will not grab a hold of yours
Because you are not my pocession
but a gift
But you shall not grab a hold of mine
Because that will encourage dependance on me

Instead we will reach for the others hand together

And then , i will walk with you along this journey in life

There may be times when you grip my hand harder
And i will let you for as long as you need
Or there may be times when you need me to let go and let you face life on your own
At these times i will quietly slip my hand away
Step off your path and watch and wait from the sides until you need me again
I will not lead you
It is after all,your journey , not mine
But nor will i follow behind
Because you are my child and i must protect you
SO instead i will walk beside you
Hand in hand
Guiding when you need it
Stepping back when you need it

And walking with you, down lifes road
