I think the finger comparison is the ring (4th) finger being longer (or not) than the pointer (2nd) finger. My ring finger is slightly shorter, I'm a girly girl, but I'm good at (and enjoy!) maths.

My testosterone was 'on the high side' when I had a blood test at the end of last year. I don't know what number it was though. hehe no probs about the thread jack! i love it!!!! its great hearing everyones views!

my middle finger is WAY! longer than my index i have always been a tomboy (and i only have 1 sister and mainly raised by just my mum) im great at maths and am pretty hands on!!

Yeah iv definately heard about the more stressed you are and also the more manly and physical your daily duties are then the higher your testosterone!!

im all good with the high test. but im not at all happy with the extra hair growth and i usually have a very femine soft face but my features have really hardened lately

Jess - im pretty sure im not pregnant because i have been charting for a while and i wouldv thought that it would show up like ferns on microscope, higher temp etc but nothing and also i think (i dunno, just assuming) that it wouldv shown up in my hormone levels that the doc did in my bloods??...would be a lovely shock though thanks for explaining the provera too Jess because now i know why my temp has hiked up lately! lol

So after reading all your replies i feel tonnes better about the provera because you have all said that you have finished the course of drugs and then a few days later Af arrived-- well i still have 2 tablets to take so there is still hope!!!!! I definitely don't think it's a bad thing, or rather it's something I never noticed before and I only thought about it after watching this show.

I have, in the past, had to take a step back and let DH do 'manly' things (like repairing things) but after 11 years he's used to me.

The only thing is that those with higher testosterone levels are more likely to get man problems too (like heart disease which tends to be suffered more by men than chicks).

I think that stress triggers testoterone, I can't remember the other triggers they mentioned during the show I just remember that one and thinking no wonder I've got a longer ring finger. When she was pregnant with me my mum had a 3yo and a terminally ill 2 yo, on a single income struggling to make ends meet because they had to ensure they had money for medication, transport to Pete's hospital appts etc (in the days before the child cancer foundation) they would literally have to choose what to buy for the week - a pint of milk or a loaf of bread. Bet she was more stressed than I can even imagine.

I've never considered myself a tomboy (although I guess I did tomboyish things with my bros growing up) I love girly things - my favourite colour is pink and you should have seen my massive barbie doll collection that I had as a kid. I'm good at maths (but I have a lot of family that work in financial roles too). I've always been very physical and very competitive, I enjoy DIY and like to build things, I love action movies (Die hard, Indiana Jones etc) and one of my fav shows is Top Gear. This isn't going to help at all but I found it interesting. I saw a show in December last year that said the longer your ring finger is in comparison to your index finger the more testosterone you were exposed to in the womb. Scientists have suggested that the higher the level of testosterone, the more masculine the resulting foetus is likely to be, with its associated traits of strength, fertility and mathematical ability

My ring finger is 8mm longer than my index finger and I expect I was exposed to a fair amount of testosterone as, when pregnant with me, my mother was dealing with a toddler who had cancer and was having regular chemo etc.

Hi there,

I've got higher testosterone levels with my PCOS, and they put me on the pill to fix it at the time, which induced a period

But now we are TTC I don't have a period, and it is induced by Provera. Which works for me!

Lol, that probably wasn't much help but just my experience

So in your situation I don't know what they'd do... I've never heard of Provera not working before

I suspected my testosterone levels were a little high and went to doc for bloods - they rung yesterday to say that all my other bloods were perfect such as kidney function, blood cells bladyblah but my testerone may not be quite so - its meant to be between 0.5 and 3 max and mine is just over 2.9!!! im turning into a man!!! lol

Has anyone else had high testosterone levels and what was done about it???? (out of the ladies on here of course! lol)
