I have to say today I did a huge complaint at McDonalds. I got the boys happymeals and they don't have pickle or the onion in it. Josh's had onion in it - took it back. Andrew's had the big mac top on his but I left that one. And my big mac had no cheese in it . The manager was cool about it and did her nut at the kitchen staff for stuffing up 3 burgers in 1 order. She gave us a whole heap of vouchers to make up for it. When she brought the burgers back and all made properly I told her that I used to work at McDonalds and she stretched the truth and told them I used to work for head office - wrong person to stuff an order up for.

Whereas I am a believer that the customer is sometimes a complete idiot.  I don't do so well working in customer service!! 

I don't complain if it's crap service but the staff were obviously over-stretched.  I complained at the last restaurant I ate at, because it was a nice place, but my chicked was a tough as old boots.  Their service had been excellent though, so I mentioned that too.  Got a free drink - they'd offered to 'fix' the chicken too but as it was over-cooked they couldn't have done anything so I said no.  I've sent a meal back for being horribly undercooked, too - I was preggers at the time and couldn't risk half-raw salmon!  I'm reluctant to be tooooo fussy with sending food back - as Dr. Phil said 'you'd eat a lot of spit'! 

Yep I do all the time. I feel they do need to know that they haven't performed to the customers expectations.

Yep I definately complain ... Ive even been known to go through the whole management structure till I get high enough for them to have the authority to make me happy!

I once went to a very flash dinner, we were entertaining some overseas collegues, so the group of 12 of us went to a very very expensive viaduct restaurant. During the course of the evening the waiter dripped red wine down my shirt, the food took forever (really long even for a big group) and the waiting staff were just generally a bit cr*p. We prob spend over $2k on food and wine, and I really thought it was unacceptable, so I wrote to them complaining and it took them a long time to repsond, but when they did all I got was a lukewarm apology and that was it. Pretty disapointing.

Most times I will complain, but often I will let DH do it, but sometimes he can get a bit worked up so we will just leave it. I do get peeved when you are spending a lot of money and the service is rubbish.
