I'm off work today getting sorted for our holiday tomorrow so we're having a girly day

We popped into Daycare so I could have a proper chat with the nursery supervisor.
It really does depend on who you talk to! She was fantastic! All day yesterday on the half hour she would take all 3 of them down to the toilets and Caitlin only had 1 accident
She's evening starting to tell them when she needs to go, that was the accident tho lol It was more of I need to go right now - uh ohhh I've been But hey - it's a huge step in the right direction.

We went to the mall this morning and went to the toilets three times whilst we were there in an hour and no accidents at all. Yay my big girl

And it is giving her mixed messages by putting her back in nappies! I also would be going grrrrr at them and asking them to perservere!

It takes committment on all sides and if they have agreed that they will help you then they gotta help! There are going to be accidents, its a give in. Charlotte didn't know to ask at first either and as I said, we had heaps of accidents at first. But she learnt really quick and Caitlin obviously is a bright spark too. Make them continue with it, put heaps of spare clothes in. I reckon after about 3 weeks it will happen. Until then, there will be accidents but they will get less and less as the weeks go on.

I spoke to daycare today.

All morning she was asked if she wanted to go toilet (every half hour) and they would go down to the toilets together (with the other 2 that are TTing). Only one accident this morning (again at morning tea), then she was put in nappies and kept in nappies until I picked her up.
They said it's hard for them because she doesn't ask to go toilet - which is something she will learn. But I don't understand why they can't continue with the half hourly toilet trips in the afternoon?

I must say - I'm still really unimpressed with this

Also, I questioned one of the ladies about Caitlin not going down to the big kids area when we were told she would, aparently she's not even on the transition list yet!
I just feel this is such a waste of time! She's a smart kid (mummy brag I know - but I think she is ) and if they were taking her every 30 mins for the whole day I'm sure she would have it sussed really quickly. I agree with Bizzy, you need to reiterate to day care how its happening at home and that she is going to be getting mixed messages.

On saying that tho, we went through a LOT of clothes at day care at first. How long have you been TT for? It really took a few weeks before it was sorted. Now we are unlucky to have an accident once a week.

Seriously tho, talk to daycare. They are there to help and if they had already agreed, they need to be giving it a good go. Is there a particular carer that could be "in charge" of Caitlins TT? We had Bonnie who looked after that side of things first and foremost. Fiona - we had 3 pottys! Just gave one to Tyrell

Becks - the teacher to child ratio is really good at her centre, but on rainy days it's insane in there and so I totally appreciate that they can't watch her every second. She does have a focus teacher (if I understand you right) who she has a special friendship with, they're really close - but again, she's not the only kid.

I guess our biggest problem is that DC have now decided that she isn't ready to go in with the 2-3yr olds (and have access to the toilets herself). At the end of the day it is most important that she is settled and happy where she is.
I guess I just assumed they would keep her downstairs near the toilet.

Go back to the daycare and tell them that this is what we are doing please can you follow it. When I TT Andrew I told DC what we were doing and they followed us, worked really well.

Has she got a focus teacher?? Tell them what you are doing as they are responsible for her and they can tell the rest of the staff what you are doing.

This is exactly how we do it at home and because she doesn't tell us she needs to go she just goes to her potty, sorts herself out, does a wee or poo then claps and goes "YAY" That's the only reason we know she's gone if we're not watching her.

Now Daycare is a whole new issue - and I'm a bit p'd off over it actually
We all agreed (me, DH and the staff at daycare) that yes she was ready and that they would make every effort with her just like we were.
I called this afternoon and spoke to the supervisor who said she had 1 accident at morning tea but admited she forgot to ask C is she needed to go before she sat down to eat. That's fair enough, they are full on on wet days with the other kids.

BUT - when I pick her up tonight, she's been through all 6 pairs of trousers!
One of the other staff members said "but she doesn't ask to go toilet" I KNOW THAT! I TOLD YOU GUYS!!!!
We were told a couple of weeks ago that C was ready to go from the nursery to the big kids area, this would mean she would have access to the toilet anytime (not like the nursery), now apparently she's not rady to go up a level and this means she is reliant on someone seeing her standing at the gate to go downstairs to the toilets!

I'm so angry because I know Caitlin can do this because she wants to and she is definitely ready (we're certainly not pushing her into something she doesn't want to do). But it looks as if daycare are going to be the ones holding her back

What do I do?!?!?! Continue TTing at home and let her wet all the time at daycare or let them put her in nappies?
I have no idea! We simply left the potty in the lounge and let her go to it when she was ready. I also asked her about every 30 mins if she needed to go potty. It took a good 3 weeks to get her into the habit and she now refuses to go in a nappy if she has one on - even at night (its freezing if we have to get up for a potty stop at 2am!)

We had a few accidents and like you, it happened usually at the same time each day (ours was early afternoon). But after that 3 week period, we were home and hosed!

My Sienna is the stripper in this house, she can get her pants and nappy off no probs at all, it's driving me mad! about 20-30 mins after her breakfast (cereal and 150mls milk), she always carries her cup around and drinks heaps because of her constipation issues (not an issue this weekend - she's been almost every time she pees! )

How soon is it after she gets up? Is she drinking a lot in the morning?
I found with Ella that we had to put her sipper cup up on the bench and just give her drinks at breakfast and morning tea etc (unless she was really thirsty and asking for it) so that we had a better idea of when she would be needing the potty and reminding her half hourly after she'd had a drink.
Would that work for you guys?

We're starting because I'm sick of the tantrums and fighting her to put the nappy on! And because we are picking up from where we left off at Christmas (she was almost dry GRRR!!!)

We've just started toilet training again (this is it this time, no going back!) and she's been doing so well, we're really proud of her.

BUT... the first couple of wees in the morning, she seems to have forgetten where to do them, but after morning tea time she's 100% dry. Do you think she just forgets?!?!
