No they said it looks quite clean so *should* heal up, but it will take a good month or two. Hehe wrxchic, you REALLY should!

Been to the hospital this morning, I'm now on daily checks for this week and then weekly after that as my body rejected the stitches, so the tearing of the tape that the nurse did when I had my dressings appt was enough to split it. So it could take a good couple of months just to heal together, whereas good ol faithful leftie is perfectly fine! Go figure

mrsmojo - that could be right about being right-handed and that being the boob thats taking a while. Thanks ladies!

And they gave me heaps of dressings and steri-sponges. Is you mum near you?? Can she take Jack and you go to the hospital?? My sisters did this and she was in Palmy and they had to take an emergancy trip to Wellington (where she had the op) to get fixed up.

If you're right handed you may be using your right arm more which in turn moves the flesh etc around the wound which will keep it from healing as quickly.

That's just a guess but if you think it could be on the mark you could try consciously using your left arm more when you're doing things around the house, using the pc and taking care of Jackson.

OK will do. Just can't go out or anything till the morning as it would make it worse to lift Jack at the moment so a double-edged sword!

Hehe I thought I'd posted this ages ago, anyway rang healthline and they said to keep an eye on it overnight, make sure nothings rubbing and ring plastics first thing in the morning. You would think after 4 weeks it would be OK. Left side has healed already but the right side is where nearly 500g was taken off so I suppose its more suceptable (sp?) to problems.

Can you call the healthline and see what they say? Doesn't sound good and as you say you definitely don't want it healing wrong but then again it might be completely OK. My wound has opened up on my right boob! And the plastic outpatients is only open business hours. I'm home alone (other than Jack but he doesn't seem to care too much ) and I've put a steri-strip over it but I'm scared its going to start healing like this by tomorrow. Is there anything I can do/put on it in the meantime?
