Without wanting to sound too harsh, the scary thing is that both of these people will likely go on and have more children. (although prob not together). That breaks my heart to think that there will be other children put at risk - as I dont think a leopard changes his spots that easily.

I think that everyon in that house should be charged. We really need to start making an example of these people who sit back and watch our children being murdered. I have a friend who is a criminal lawyer out west, and she was telling me that often the police want to prosecute for things like that, but they dont have the resources to do it. That really sucks. If I stood by and watched someone being murdered in my lounge and did nothing - in fact turned a blind eye - surely I would be an accessory to the fact, and deserve to be punished accordingly.

I don't know if he did it or not. I haven't formed an opinion on it as I haven't watched it closely. macsyna's character as a mother came under fire that

same day, over her comments when asked to stay the night at Auckland's Starship Children's Hospital, where Chris and Cru Kahui faced further surgery after being admitted with injuries including brain haemorrhages, broken bones and retinal bleeding.

Macsyna spurned the offer of a bed at Ronald McDonald House, telling a nurse, "I don't give a sh*t. I'm going. I need my sleep," a Child Youth and Family worker told the hearing in the Manukau District Court. Five days later, on June 18 last year, Chris and Cru's life support was turned off.

The court also heard how a detective last October asked Chris Kahui, 22 - who will stand trial in the High Court next year - if he knew Macsyna had been having affairs with "other men".

Kahui replied he had heard via his sister Macsyna "could have been sleeping with somebody else".

He said he had confronted Macsyna and she denied the allegations.

Macsyna and Kahui also have a two-year-old son, Shane, who is in the care of other relatives elsewhere in the North Island.

Babies Chris and Cru were two of triplets, born to the couple on March 20 last year. The third baby was stillborn.

I agree with what everyone has said and don't have much more to say about it , except, and PLEASE don't take this the wrong way ,but if thats what their lives already were like, at such a young age....then its almost a relief they died and their suffering ended early
Of course in saying that what would have been better would have been if they had been born to the many couples out there that would have given those boys the loving surroundings they needed-and we had never heard of them .

I think he will be found not guilty- not necessarily because he didn't do it (I personally have no idea who did it!) but because it seems impossible to know 'without reasonable doubt' that he did do it.

She definitely seems the more volatile of the 2 but like everyone else has said, it seems they never had a chance in that household- all of them should be accountable. I think that Chris is taking the fall. I think he knows who killed those boys, I don't think that she is at all innocent. She should be charged for failing to provide the necessities of life or whatever it's called.

That's why they should bring in sterilisation for criminals... weed out their bad genes/personalities etc so the cycle doesn't continue. I think they should all rot in jail, or maybe be dealt the same treatment their babies were.

i haven't really been following the case closely because it upsets me too much, but i don't have a clue who made those final blows.
i really feel for those on the jury.....can you just imagine what they must be seeing and hearing. they will definately need counselling afterwards

I agree. I've been following the case and fully agree with Jo, those poor wee boys didn't stand a chance in a household where not one of the adults there was willing to stand up for them and speak out against what was going on there.
They're all guilty for the loss of those wee angels. I think they are all as guilty as each other even if only one of them actually physically killed them. They are all hiding things and lying/changing stories. It makes me sick    They died the day before Ashleigh was born so I heard alot of stories in NICU about their time there. I don't know who did it but from what I understand the injuries were sustained over a period of time. IMHO every adult who lived in the house should be charged. Someone (or several someones) hurt those boys and others turned blind eyes and ears to the abuse.

It breaks my heart to think of them and the others like them and as I type this I wonder if they're the lucky ones. They got out early, how many other babies/toddlers/children are still alive and living with fear and injuries in their abusive homes?

To be honest I have no idea, I haven't followed it but I am glad I'm not on they jury. apprently the mum's bf came forward and said she talked to him via cell and confessed.   when asked why he didn't come forward sooner he told the police he didn't think it was relevant. snort.

ok this may push a few buttons which I am not intending but I just wondered what you all thought about the Kahui case? My DH and I both think that Dad is innocent but that there is something really fishy going on with the whole thing. Like he is covering for her or someone else. I am pretty convinced that she did it.
