Yep totally agree, if they are too sick for daycare then too sick for playdates.

I think fair enough if it was an emergancy and she had something very important to do that was a bout an hour but not the whole day with a sick child.

Maybe you should ring your friend at work and say her DD is sneezing and snotting everywhere and if she can come & collect her. Cos if she was at daycare, that's what they would do and send her home!

She definitely should have said before dropping her off that she wasn't well, only polite to do so, and given you the option if you still wanted her. Your friend obviously hasn't thought it through. Yep, totally rude! IMO if she's too sick for daycare, she's too sick for playdates. Her mother should be staying home with her keeping her warm and snuggly. I've had Maya home 3 days in the past week with various things and it plays havoc with my work hours but at the end of the day, when they're sick, they need their mummies.

I offered last week, so she wasn't sick then, but she did txt last night to see if it was still ok, so she could of said then. Miss 4 isn't grumpy, but she is sneezing, and has a runny nose. I would of thought she would have told me. I think that is extremely rude! I'd never expect someone to look after my sick child unless I specifically state that he is sick and do they mind that. I always always give people a heads up if either of mine are sick- and I expect the same courtesy in return. If you let them know in advance then they are free to chose whether they want to risk it or not. I offered to look after my friends 4 year old daughter today. Friend has a new job, and never gets to visit any more, to her DD and Alex don't get to play any more. So I said why doesan't she come and stay with me for the day rather than going to daycare. So she dropped her off (at 6:40am!!) and said, 'it's probably good she isn't going to DC today, as she has a cold'. So now I have a sick 4 year old breathing over my kids, who will probably get it! I think thats a bit rude, I don't mind having her to stay, she is really good, but I wouldn't take my kids to someone elses house if they were sick.
