You need to find a way to move on from the situation you described. Some people imagine a box and put the thought in a box and put the box away in a wardrobe or some such thing. I am catholic and believe in forgiveness so making a conscious effort to do that often helps me move on.

Maybe if you can talk about the situation with someone you will find it easier to then leave it in it's place in the past.

    Author: Brenna
Subject: 17811
Posted: 01 June 2008 at 8:49pm

I was at a family lunch today and got talking my sister in law about 'Mind Chatter' (talking to yourself in your head)

She was really sick last year and from that has developed anxiety. She said she's been reading a book called 'The Power of Now' and it basically says that mind chatter of the past is not a very good thing and to live in the 'now' rather than dwell on emtional baggage from your past.

I can understand what she's meaning, but I feel this is easier said than done.

There's one particular situation that happened to me when Brenna was very little and I think about it alot and sometimes I do worry that I dwell on it too much.

So my question is...
does anyone here think that Mind Chatter can become too often? and how do you block it out?

I hope this has made some sense!! (My SIL explained it in a very easy to understand way)
