I'm finding it a mission just to get Zech to keep his hat on, if he doesnt know he is wearing it its ok, but as soon as he notices he takes it off.

eating troubles...and they are only little! I can just now start to imagine how much worse its going to get. They do seem to have their favourite foods eh, luckily for me, Zech loves carrot sticks, so much so he cries when he is eaten them all, and he loves peas and brocolli but the actual main meal, like meat, pasta etc whatever it is, he usually won't touch. I heard somwhere that they have to be given the food something like 20 times before they might actually start to like it, I've given Zech egg about that many times now and he won't touch it still so I'll leave it be. And he still isn't drinking cows milk! sigh!

Zech sleeps so well at night now and rarely wakes and its so nice to get a full nights sleep once again!

have a good weekend guys, my in-laws are coming so I guess we will be busy busy.

This year has passed so quickly. We went to visit DH's cousin and her new baby daughter this afternoon and I just can't get over the growth and development that happens over the space of a year.

I'm not too bad now. thanks. The drugs I'm on are pretty good and I'm finding that on days where I'm not doing so much I can put off taking them until later in the morning so I must be feeling better than I was. Plus we have our nuchal scan on Tuesday so I'm looking forward to being reassured with a little heartbeat.

How are you feeling? I can't believe you only have 9 weeks to go. Are you all set to go? It's funny to think I was following your labour on OhBaby and waiting for my own to begin never realising our boys would turn up on the same day!!

Congratulations! Wow - it looks like some of us June mummies are going to have relatively smallish age gaps between little people.

We're also about to start some renovating although we have to actually move house first. We have finally bought a house and move in in July so there is a lot of packing that needs to be done between now and then. Not my favourite job!

So is Mason the first of the June birthdays? I hope you at least get a bit of time to relax and congratulate yourself on getting through another first year. We seem to have managed to invite about 20 people for afternoon tea for Ollie's birthday. It'll be fun but it'll be a test for my baking skills - I'm determined to make a decent cake for him!

He can stand up by himself but not walking yet.

He has just learnt to pass things and spends ages with his sister passing a toy back and forth. Today he went and took one of his dummies out of his cot but when I told him to give it to me he did!! I wonder how long he will be keep been so obidient.

He loves his food and usually has left overs from our dinner the night before as we eat at 6.30 after he is asleep. He also likes baked beans and spagetti and anything anyone else is eating.

I had a tummy bug last week too, except mine was the OTHER kind, no vomiting but eerrrr, the other end! I couldn't keep anything in, it was awful.

Yay for Hayley cruising the furniture, thats how Caden started off a few months ago, then he staretd letting go, and then he started stepping, and now he walks lol

Ohh looks like Ollie will be crawling very soon

Our easter was average, didn't buy any eggs, but we did have 3 large blocks of chocolate that I made myself very sick on LOL, I felt rotten, but nothing some water and healthy food couldn't fix!

So whats everyone doing in the way of food now? We give Caden porridge for breakfast, and for lunch and snacks he has all sorts of finger foods, stuff he can mush up easily, like soft fruit, bread, etc.
I have tried him with mandarin segments and he loves them, he has piklets today, and had tuna pasta bake for dinner with us tonight, and some pea's and broccoli on his tray.

So he is eating more or less what we have now..sometimes for dinner he will have a tin of the watties baby food, and then his veges and pudding(usually apple custard), but often he has what we have, mushed or chopped up.

I'm such a crap typist that it puts me off writing much cos it takes too long lol. Everything is really good with us, although a few things here and there - Blake has decided that he's Mr Independant at dinner and won't eat off a spoon so he has all finger food which is fine but takes sooo long for him to eat, usually about an hour, and if he doesn't eat enough he wakes in the night starving hungry. He's not crawling yet but has finally started to show signs that he's not far away - he leans forward now from sitting to rest on his hands so maybe another week I'm guessing?
Went to our Dr for a checkup and she's found he has a heart murmur so we're being referred to NSH to get it checked out, I'm sure it's not too serious though because he's doing fine otherwise.

Oh and he got one of his shapes in the right hole of his shape sorter yesterday Very proud mummy moment I'm heading back to work part time in about 6 weeks, time has just flown by and although I'm kinda looking forward to it I can't imagine what it will be like to be apart from him 5 hours a day

Hope everyone else is good, hi to all the mums and bubs

I try to keep to the baby yogurts but he is so fussy and doesnt like eating the same thing twice lol so have to swap the flavour of yogurt every day. he loves mince, and choc cake lol though I try to keep that to a once in a while food.
Mason no longer has his dummy, on friday night he just went to sleep with out it and slept all night, then had his 1st day sleep with out it and hasnt had it since sometime on friday. he sometimes finds the odd one around the place but I take it from him and he doesnt mind at all which is fantastic coz ds1 had a dummy and I got it off him at 18mths and when I had mason he reverted right make to having one and he still has it so know I can get rid of them all.

I hope everyone is doing well,
Kate I hope Oliver is ok that must have been so scary, also hope u are ok, I had trouble sleeping for a week after ds#1 split his forhead.

About 8.30pm Ollie started crying really strangely. I went in to get him from his cot and he was completely floppy. We called an ambulance of course he pretty much came back to normal ten minutes after they arrived but we still went in to ED to get him checked out. It's possible he had a febrile seizure although he didn't have a temperature. I think I might have wrapped him up too warmly and caused him to have a temporarily raised temp. I hate these scary parenthood moments. I was so afraid when I picked him up and realised he couldn't hold his head up.

So, I've gone back to being a paranoid mum...checking on him every five minutes or so!

I hope everyone else is having a better weekend.

Sheene you have an excuse - I hope you have a fantastic day!

Well. Ollie is still sick - he's had conjunctivitis - any tips on getting eye drops in would be much appreciated!! It's like some horrible form of torture - I hold him down and DH puts them in. Plus he has a cold again. I'm hoping this means he's building great immunity and won't be sick for the rest of the winter.

Other than that, we are house hunting at the moment. There isn't much out there in our tiny price range but we're hoping something we like comes up soonish. I know it's not the reason to buy but I've always imagined that my kids rooms would be specially painted for them etc etc etc

anyway, hurry back here June mummies - otherwise we might have to join the July mums. Mind you I don't think I would ever be able to keep up with them!

We've been looking at houses but have a pretty limited budget at this stage.

Sheena I can't believe you are 16 weeks already! You must be excited about your wedding too. So would be great if you stuck your heads into the July thread to contribute to the date setting process. At the moment we're thinking some time in the last 2 weeks of June, possibly a Sunday (so we don't clash with other parties on a Saturday), so either the 21st or the 28th. Not that it's set in stone yet! So go put in your 2 cents worth!

(Conversation started on this page in case we've yakked past it by the time you all get there )

Edited by weegee

I have no idea what caused it. It always seemed worse when I was feeding Zech and I was scared of being sick on him. lol. Oh all the memories! I don't think I want to be pregnant again, altho getting the kids 'out of the way' in one hit seems like a good idea. Hmm, I think we are going to just let nature do its thing and if we get pregnant again then we do and if we don't for a while then thats ok too.

Zech has had alot of different foods today- museli, peaches, an apricot, avocado, a wine biscuit, a crust, strawberries, orange kumera, silverbeet, mince and watermelon. We went out to my husband's aunty's and he had quite an assortment of foods! it was fun. Still no teeth yet.

Sorry to hear that afew babies have colds at the moment hopefully they get better soon

I've run outta time to write anymore..

I squashed up some peaches from a can and Ollie has been having those with muesli.

He has a cold at the moment too and we've been up since 2am! It's so horrible when they're sick isn't it. I wish you guys all lived in Wgtn instead!!

Wow Rowena - Jamie sounds like he's doing well! Ollie is still a way off crawling (I'm both pleased and disappointed!!!). It sounds like you will have an early walker!!

Muppetsmama you sound like you need a good break from pregnancy. I felt sorry for myself but it sounds like some of you had a much worse time. Still, although I want to get going with trying for a second I am dreading feeling the same way again.

Anyway, I had lots to say and can't think of most of it so I should get on with some housework!!

Have a lovely day everyone.

Muppertsmumma, im really sorry to hear you went through it too, but it doesnt have to mean you will get it again if you have another wee one. And pulling up to standing is pretty amazing at this age. she might be one of those 9month walkers!

Hmm i should probably freeze some of our silverbeet... it seems to be the most prolific thing in our garden, theres no way we can get through it all by ourselves! although it should stay in the garden through winter fine.

Yay my mums coming down from Auckland next friday its been ages since the kids have spent time together. ive planned some horse riding and kayaking, so hopefully shes up for it.

I have no idea how much Aliana weighs... Xavier was always above the 97% mark and Ali is pretty big herself so it might be better for me not to know... i really wanted a dainty baby after my monster child of a boy. lol
Make sure when they are 2 (for a boy) double their height and it will show an approx of how tall the will be when fully grown... Hopefully I'll get to go next year, I would agree with you and say that it is probably something you don't want to be going to every year but definately when there is a good band or speaker that you really wanna see/hear. The heat would have been just awful! lol. How did the tupperware party go?

I would love to come to the big july/june mummies meet up but I don't think we will have enough money to get there. I have to get my tonsils out on March 2nd and we are having to go private and its a bit costly.

We were the same about the whole honeymoon/money thing but then decided that we would just spend less on the wedding so we could get away, we spent 2weeks touring the south island (staying at friends places) so it wasn't too costly either. It was great! I wish I could do it all over again. We didn't have a proper sit down meal or dance or anything tho, just a reception/bbq at my aunties house and occasionally I wish we had gone the whole hog but then I think about my honeymoon holiday and think..nah! it was all worth it. lol altho Sheza in your cause, its a bit different, you certainly have your hands full! Once ya start it gets easier and easier.

I pureed a whole lot of silverbeet out of my garden yesterday, man its gross, but I have put it into little cubes and will give a little to Zech twice a day, he eats it so that helps, but I just wanna get his iron levels up. they say that at this age a baby needs twice the amount iron a fully grown man needs. yikes!

You must be excited! I wish I could get married again (preferably to the same DH!!). It was so much fun. We didn't have a honeymoon either - couldn't afford it.

Ollie had a 7 month plunket visit today. He weighs 9.7 kgs! She couldn't check his height - they've been told they can't use their measuring thingy because it's inaccurate but they haven't been provided with a new one yet.

I've decided to get off my bottom and start making more proper meals for him now so I cooked some mince tonight to go with some veges I'd already done. I thought I might add something a bit saucy to make it a little mushy. Might mush up some peas or something like that! but I'm sure he'll love it!

Sheena, how's the ms going? And just the whole tiredness...? I can't wait to have another baby but I must admit, I'm not looking forward to the pregnant bit of the process! I've been reading about other options for getting rid of or relieving ms so hopefully I'll find something that works this time. I had it right through with full on throwing up and everything.

Anyway, on a pleasanter note, the weather is meant to be great for the weekend. Does anyone have any exciting plans?

Its so expensive to get to Auck, I have friends up there who I hardly see. I'm hoping to get to a Ohbaby chch mums meet up at some stage so I'm really looking forward to that!

hopefully they come back with some results on the rash Alianasmummy, at least you now know about the allergy to egg-so it wasn't a completely wasted trip. and what a trip! it must have been a very very long one!
how's xavier been coping with a new bubs around? I think one kid is enough for me at the moment, I want more but the thought of it just doesn't seem to appealing

Yay for all the teeth coming through!! they really are growing up fast!

The poo's have thankfully started to return to the more solid normal state now, I was able to pick one up this morning and flush it down the loo, explosive runny poo's and the heat wasn't the nicest! I'm still unsure as to what actually caused it.

when's the big day Sheza? you must be getting really excited now! are you going to go away on a honeymoon? I love weddings. I wish I could re-marry my husband again..hehe, my wedding day and honeymoon was probably one of the best times of my life.

I hope everyone has a good day today, looks like its gonna be another very hot one again

I justg gave Ali a cool bath and put her to bed, she was sweating a bit when i checked on her poor girl.

Her test went well, just a slight allergy to eggs but it still doesnt answer why she has such a bad rash. its definitely not heat related so i give up. The doctors are getting back to me next week.
Such a mission getting over the hill and back. took pretty much all day for a half hour appointment... we had to stop every 20 mins for xavier to go wees... i think it was a bit of an attention seeking excercise but if i said no im sure he would have proved me wrong.
Eww explosive poos! im so over nappies!
Alis 2 top teeth are just starting to come through now. more to chomp on me with im trying to teach her not to bite but i she finds it hilarious...
Happy 7month birthday Caden. its gone so SUPER fast eh. i cant believe it.
