Just being nosey but who is telling you?

A wrap is just a big square of material that you wrap a baby in, its keeps them cosy and limits their startle reflec which means they tend to sleep better. They will wrap in hospital so don't worry you will know what I mean.

Sleep suits are fine but I am lazy and found them a pain to dome and undome all day with a newborn who needs lots of nappy changes so I always used gowns

Cheapest place for sleep sacks is the lady on trade me as they are only $65 - $85 including postage as opposed to $160 for others.

Newborns don't tend to wriggle a whole lot in bed esp in the first 6 weeks. I just personally found sleepsack bulky and long and hard to get a small bubba into and then hard to get them in and out of the basinett with all the extra fabric when I was half asleep in the middle of the night but then I am a whinger!

Her user name is shopaholic.9

They are awesome and made to order so you can get any length? I didn't put my wee boy in his until he was 5 months and probably would only start sleep sacking from 3 months as I personally think a sleepsack and a wrap on a new born is too much but you can buy merino sleep gowns from JK for $30. Gowns are fantastic on newnorns as makes easy nappy changing. my boy lived in gowns for the first 6 weeks as they are too hard to dress. So with a cotton singlet, then wool, then a merino gown, then wrapped, then a blanket your bubba would be all good. I am in chch too so know what you mean.

Others may have different opinions also and sorry for the novel!

I remember some of the other ladies talking about someone on there that makes merino sleep sacks for cheaper than online store and customises them to suit what you want which is pretty cool.

We just started using a sleep sack this week. Ours is a grobag which we are loving. It's a winter weight one and I just pop him down in that and then have a sheet over top of him to tuck him in (he likes the cozyness of being tucked in) and then before bed we check the temp of his room. If its ok we just leave him like that and hes nice n warm. If its chilly we put an aircell woolen blanket over top. He doesn't over heat with it. It's just perfect.
