When our cat was getting old my parents tried to circumvent the whole replacement process by getting another cat so we could get used to him BEFORE Jill died. sorry to hear about bronson..2yrs if far too young

as far as getting a dog, only you can answer that question. on one hand, it can help the grieving process to have a dog around to love, but on the other hand, some people need time so they don't feel like they are 'replacing' the pet that passed........does that make sense?

We had to have our old boy put down earlier this year, and although it was really hard, the new puppy made it easier for DH to deal with.  Rocky was his best mate, he took him everywhere, so he was hit pretty hard.  But having the puppy made the transition a bit easier.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

Sorry to hear about your loss. We have a lab who is almost two and I know how attached you can get to pets.

When our cat died we got a new cat within a month. Hi all in the weekend we had to put our beloved dog (Bronson king charles cavalier) so sleep he wasn't even 2 years old (so not fair) wont go into details of why but was just wondering what you all think about how long people should wait to get another dog??
