I went exactly on the day I was 18 weeks because I was bleeding heavily two days prior to that. They saw every thing and measured every thing but could not tell the sex of the baby because she had her legs crossed. Tastic/Trish had the same problem. She was told different dates by different people. My midwife told me this morning that the scan MUST be done between 18-20 weeks, was quite insistent as I am going to be away in Australia then. 18 weeks - baby is approx 14 centimeters crown to rump, and 7 ounces in weight

20 weeks - 16 centimeters crown-to-rump, approx ten ounces in weight

2 weeks makes a lot of difference! Hi ya,
The longer you leave it the more developed baby's organs are going to be which is what they are looking at. Leave it as close to 20wks as you can.

I think they say between 18 & 20 weeks. We were told to wait till 20 for this scan because we wanted to check out if baby had a cleft and was told that things grow quite a bit in that time so you get a better picture. second question for all you wise mummies
