I know it takes a lot more power to heat the house up when you turn it on orignially so turning it on and off all the time is expensive. <br /></td></tr></table><br /><br />The installer advised us not to turn it on and off, just to turn the temperature down and have the fan on low during the night. But we only use the logburner when its really cold, the heatpump does a good job of keeping the whole house warm most of the time except for on the coldest winter nights.  <br /><br />So I guess it depends where you are going to put the heatpump too.]]>

It heats the whole place up really quickly 10min for just the open plan living spaces and a bit longer if we leave the door open to the hall and bedrooms and yes we are warm and toasty .<br /><br />I love that it is multi functional and can dehumidify (sp) as well and in summer we can used it like air conditioning to cool the house down.<br />And the cleaning is soooo much easier (I'm too lazy to do a fire place now <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0"> ) <br /><br />Oh yeah it's much safer for bubs as well.]]>
