Im only 30 weeks 2moro and i have been having "period pain" since yesterday - its really quite sore!!

Also the area "down there" around the opening is hard and swollen - tender to the touch...

Should i be concerned?

I had them a few weeks ago too and my midwife said its to do with the babys head putting pressure on the cervix. Like Sheena said, "not painful...but not exactly nice either"

Yep I had them at about 37 weeks aswell, they were like icky period cramps, and sometimes they were quite bad, at one point I thought I might be in labour, but nope lol

Does anyone know what pre-labour period pains are related to? I've been getting them on and off for a week. My MW says it means things are loosening up. Is it related to cervix effacement or anything specific???
