I faxed in a signed resignation last time I quit a job (over 8 years ago).  I then had issues over my holiday pay (as in the boss decided he didn't have to pay me any and he was wrong) but got free legal representation and it was all sorted out very promptly.

I agree with Jennz, call them in the first instance because it could be a genuine issue with your emails.  If they are intentionally being difficult contact citizens advice about employment dispute resolution.

Could you call them? Sounds like there might be a problem with your emails getting through- if they aren't getting them then that would explain them not replying. Hopefully a call to find out what is going on would get things sorted pretty quickly- and at least them you'll definitely know where you stand.

recently i got married and took 5 weeks unpaid leave from work as my sister came over from aus also and i wanted to spend as much time as poss with her. during this time i decided to resign, the early morning and late afternoon-evening split shifts were really getting me and i was utterly exhausted with morning sickness etc you know how it is. also i was responsible for 40 children all of primary age and while i loved them to bits it was not working for my situation, i had balls kicked at my tummy, keys, cardi's, work papers, food and purse stolen from my bag at diff times, and i got nits a week before my wedding. might sound silly but i felt disgusting and really dirty it was just the last straw. so i sent my resignation via email, and a week later my boss rang to say she had heard from people but had not received resignation. so i emailed it thru again and received no reply. my last working day, tho i was not there as i was still on leave, was june 10. i thought i was due for my holiday pay to be paid today, tho it was not received. i emailed the finance guy last week to remind him of my hp but with no reply. i will email him again, as well as the boss. now after that novel, here is my question.. if things turn sour which they may, what must i do next?? i was thinking winz/ird but i can never get thru on the phone and hubby has the car 6 days for work. its not alot of money but as im not working as such, just odd jobs here and there, its desperately needed. thanks in advance, needed a rant ]]> Fri, 20 Jun 2008 07:10:48 +0000 https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=18403&PID=417472&title=holiday-pay-hmmm#417472
