    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=425">mum2paris</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 1860<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 21 March 2006 at 4:07pm<br /><br />another thing to look at with alot of herbal teas is the ingredients - for instance lemon and ginger tea - my mum used to have that every night, and once she stopped having it she went through terrible withdrawals... it wasn't until she talked toher doc, and looked ont he igredients list that she found that tea had hibiscus  in it - which is well known to have addictive qualities and help you sleep - so even if you think the name sounds perfectly fine - make sure you read the label - most now will sayon the side if they are definately not for use while pregnant.]]>

It is saisd to cause premature labour - both children were overdue - Jake was induced 14 days after dd and Taine was 8 days late.]]>

All the info on the net referred to avoiding Chamomile <strong>oil</strong> but I think tea is a weak enough dose that it doesn't have the same effect]]>

I noticed on a packet of green tea with wild raspberry that it is recommended that you have no more than 1 cup per day if you are pregnant.  I also think that peppermint tea is safe.  Basically anything that doesn't have caffeine in it.]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=4896">jax</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 1860<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 19 March 2006 at 4:07pm<br /><br />Ok so, I know when you say 'herbal tea' some people start jumping up and down straight away and dump on them as all being bad while you're pregnant - however, I know this isn't quite true <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0"> <br /><br />The reason I bring this up is I had a good clean out of my pantry, fridge and freezer today before we went out for more groceries (side note: you would not BELIEVE the crap that was **still** in there from that nasty ex-flatmate of ours !!)... and I'll warn you all now, I used to be a bit of a tea addict. <br /><br />So after this clean out, I have more than <strong>*twenty*</strong> different boxes of tea <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0"> Lots and lots of green tea, a fair bit of fruit tea, turkish apple tea (which is more like apple cider), ginger and lemon tea, indian chai, regular old english breakfast - you name it, I have it !! <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0"> <br /><br />My question is, what types of tea are we really really <strong>REALLY</strong> not meant to have? Despite the great volumes of tea that I have, I don't drink it that often - although DH says I should make a start so we don't have to pack a box especially for it when we move house! <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0"> ]]>
