Thankgoodness that after your first 3 scans, the rest are free.<br />]]>

I went 3 times this month before I had to have a d&c.<br />Next time I'll ask for another early one...which I'm sure doctor won't mind as I've now had 3 m/c in a row.]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=17854">emz</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 18670<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 30 June 2008 at 11:40am<br /><br />It's usually 1-2 (depending on where you live)<br /><br />I had quite a few (def not as bad as Emma though!):<br />7 weeks (dating) - through specialist<br />10 weeks (just checking) - through specialist<br />11 weeks - NT - baby wrong position<br />12 weeks - NT - baby wrong position<br />13 weeks - NT - baby wrong position, gave up<br />20 weeks - anatomy<br />27 weeks - growth <br />28 weeks - detailed heart scan<br />34 weeks - growth (IUGR)<br />36 weeks - growth (IUGR)<br />38 weeks - growth (no longer IUGR)<br />38 weeks - detailed heart (again!) x3<br />39 weeks - detailed heart, cleared<br />40 weeks - growth (normal)<br /><br />Wow, that's 14! Cool! (well it wasn't at the time! It was very scary) If you do have to have growth or heart scans, the good thing is is that you pay once and then all the repeats should be free. It can get very expensive.]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=207">Maya</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 18670<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 29 June 2008 at 6:53pm<br /><br />I am the scan queen lol!<br /><br />With Maya I had 4 - at 8 weeks to check my kidneys, nuchal scan at 12 weeks, anatomy at 20 weeks and growth/presentation scan at 36 weeks.<br /><br />With the gremlins I had more than 17 scans all up - at 5, 6 and 9 to assess viability, then the NT at 12 weeks, then growth scans every fortnight until they were born at 36 weeks with a couple of extras in there when I had a few complications.<br /><br />This time I had a dating scan (and to rule out twins again!) at 6 weeks, scan for bleeding at 8 weeks, nuchal scan at 12 weeks, scan for yet more bleeding at 14 weeks, anatomy at 20, scan coz I had strange abdo pain at 30 weeks, scan to check baby's kidneys at 32 weeks and a growth/presentation scan at 36 weeks. <br /><br />Needless to say I have become pretty good at reading ultrasound pics!]]>

You also get more if they're concerned about something or need to check positioning pre-birth.]]>
