I txt my MW to see what she had to say.. She said that your not meant to take quick eze during pregnancy and told me to try mylanta or titrlac and if they dont work she can prescribe something for me. I have had terrible heartburn, at its worst when I go to bed, even if I haven't eaten for 2 or 3 hours. I went to the pharmacy and got some tablets called Titralac, they seem to do the trick. Pharmacist saisd they were fine during pregnancy. They cost me $13 for 100 tablets. Mylanta taste better than quickeze i reckon.
They have a nicer texture.

I have been having about 3 quickeze a day so I hope they are ok. I like the chewy ones. They taste so much better.

I'm with Cat007, the Gaviscon liquid made me puke but I'm living on the Mylanta chewables atm. i was given a prescription for something form teh midwives in the hospital when first pregyg with V, meant it didn't cost me anything. Ive been recommended either mylanta or gaviscon by mw and doctor, oh, and obstetrician as well.

I cant stomach gaviscon - end up puking or washing it down with water etc. But chew mylanta tabs like they are going out of fashion. I found that a glass of milk just before bed helps - and icecream during the day. I also ate them like lollies during pregnancy. And mylanta too. I would try the gaviscon liquid if I was you, my midwife said to stay away from the tablets as they contain aluminium.

I took Quick-Eze towards the end of my pregnancy cos I was spending a fortune on Gaviscon My mw said they were fine. not as far as i'm aware. i was told not to take quick eze and only gaviscon was safe in pregnancy. if in doubt maybe either ring healthline (0800 611 116) or ask a pharmacist? Or call your midwife....
