I had the same problem with the length of the seat belt and haven't gone under and over on the clasp side but the seat is really secure and wont move at all.
I had to put it on the middle seat as we have side airbags in the back seats so I just thought that was the reason.....

I liked the look of these seats, but chose another brand because it was cheaper AND it had a tether strap

Because we don't have a car at the moment we haven't been using the tether (unless the car has an anchor point) as we take the carseat in and out of the car for every trip (which is a pain in the butt i assure you)

I was concerned about the lack of tether strap too but I figure that the reason it's fine without one is weaves through the carseat holding it in place and is so tight we all have trouble clicking it in therefore there's no room for the carseat to move in an accident.

 

It also complies with Euro safety standards which I've been told are more rigorous than NZ safety standards.

Took a bit to get ours in the other day, but it doesn't move once its in. The plunket carseat lady I was talking to about the capsules the other day said that most european made carseats (which these are) can be difficult to install as the seat belt length here is different to that overseas, (and that was what our problem was )

just found the link for these supernanny seats.... hmm i really like the bright blue and light blue, they look great and sound very practical but the fact that they don't have tether straps does concern me - I was under the impression that Plunket claims ALL car/booster seats require a tether strap?

daizy the instructions are on the back of the seat in a plastic pocket...

mum2lucas i'm not sure. it looks really good and the fact that it will make an excellent booster is certainly a plus. i am a bit worried tho about it not needing a tether strap, which is the only thing really. the seat toby was in was really too small for him and this one he can stay in the harness for a bit longer, so thats a definite bonus. oh and the headrest is adjustable and it looks like it would be easy to get the covers off to wash.

as to the highchair, it is still in its box waiting for a childless moment to put it together. i openend it and between me and the kids we had the parts all over the lounge and now its back in the box, in parts! Loving the colour of it tho.

Ah, but at least it's not going to come out easily or move about in an accident.  Plus if you do need to take it out (for cleaning or whatever) you quickly get used to putting it back in again...... and it's so cute!!!

 

Do you have the highchair now too?  How's that?
