You usually get 50 hours per child (I have the boys booked in for 47.5 hours each week). but I am unsure about the CDA sorry.

Kirst are you talking about the 6 monthly reassessment?? I wouldn't worry about the bonus and just go on his usual income. The bonus will however affect an WFF you can get.

Also at the end of the tax year you should get a statement of how much you have paid, that there can go back to IRD and you can get up to $310 a year for the family back.

Nope, when Andrew first got it he was in 17 hours a week and slowly went up to 45 hours a week but dropped back again to 36.

There are income limits for the childcare subsidy. After I had Andrew we could get it, but we got then (at the time) $1.21 per hour subsidy as both me and Nigel were both working but our income got in just (by a few dollars) under the top limit.

When I stopped working in March 2006 our income dropped so our childcare subsidy went up (to $3 something I guess $3.21 a hour) as Nigel was working full time and I was studying full time we still kept the subsidy. As i was studying all of 2007 and Nigel was working as well and even thou I had Josh we still got the subsidy as I was still studying but could do it around Josh being at home as he was a newborn.

For you Amber if Astin didn't get the disability then as you are studying and your DH is working then you would get the 50 hours as well. If you weren't studying or working then you would get the 9 hours.

They were probably over the income limit for the full subsidy

Kandice if you are studying (I am sure you are) and your partner is working fulltime then you quailify for the 50 hours of subsidied daycare, but it is dependant on your faly income as to how much of a subsidy you will get. However if you aren't studying or working and your partner is then you can only get 9 hours subsidiesed.

Only if one parent is not working ie SAHM or SAHD and the other works fulltime.

The childcare subsidy is for all children from birth - 5 and then 5-13 for Oscar care.

The childcare subsidy is dependant on income.

The centre needs to be a registered centre to get the subsidy, I would imagine all centres in NZ are registered thou.

How does it work?  You fill in the forms and so does the childcare centre (they put the amount they charge per hour or per day) and how many hours your child is in care for.
Do you find a centre first? Yes
Or do you apply for it first? You need to get a place in  centre first
Do Porse allow the subsidy? As far as I know yes
Do they pay straight to the centre, or to you? The subsidy amout goes straight to the centre and you pay the centre directly the left over amount.
