Also do you have a choice of heating options? A log burner is dry as dry, electric is still good but pricey, and gas, evil evil cheap as chips and ever so quick to start gas is awful for condensation. we got a Hrv because our walls use to be wet in winter and the windows wet as well - and now we don't get any wetness - well except in the morning when first open the curtains but thats cause they been closed couple of hours and its all gone again. Our house also has bad condensation, little puddles form on the windowsills if we do not wipe down the windows in the morning. Condensation is from a lot of things, moiture in the air from cooking, clothes drying and damp weather as well as stinky old humans make a majority of it. If you keep your windows open on the warmer days when it isn't so damp that could reduce a lot of it as well. Otherwise a dehumidifier is a great choice, I think it is like 50c to run them for 10hrs or something so dirt cheap and they make rooms warmer too. Use them when people are not in the room and make sure all doors and windows are shut as the machines tend to pull in more moisture when that happens.

we run ours 24/7.. i leave it in the hallway at night tme on slient and then move to the living area in the day while at work...

we been 3 winters in our house now - 1 without dehumidifier and 2 with - we can so see the difference.. first year was doing the towel thing and always using exit mould to get everything clean

Yes as much and all as would love one of those great systems..our dehumidifier is working over time at mo...works..is pretty noisy and expensive to run tho! yeah we have a one of those, inlaws left with the house, have been going around the windows with a squeggy thing and a towel,

so when is the best time to use the dehumidifier thingy...lol

We have a log burner and that seems to help as it goes almost 24/7. Before that when we rented in Palmy we used the dehumidifier and it worked.

Sometimes we get bad condensation. I just go around with a towel and wipe the windows that are bad down in the morning.
